I plan on being at the Mill Hall Comfort Inn this weekend.

The good news is that rooms just became available. Website rate was/is $159 per knight with NO DISCOUNTS. It is close if you call 30 miles or so close but in those parts I think it is.

All knight truck stops at the exit with six-pack bar down the road.

I was there for the Rutgers baseball game vs. ttfp back in May. It was one of the better Comfort Inns I have stayed at. Real good breakfast.

That is actually a very good location. The hotel may be referred to as the Comfort Inn Lamar Pa. It is 1 exit east of the Penn State Exit on Rt 80 (Lamar is exit 173, Bellefonte/State College is exit 161). Its about 26 miles to the stadium.

Here is a hint - you do not have to get on Rt 80 to get from Lamar to Penn State. Exit 161 is a poorly designed exit where traffic heading towards Penn State as to make a left turn from the exit At some point the exit will back up onto Rt 80 and back a ways.. From the Comfort Inn simply make a right out of the lot and stay on Rt 64 which roughly runs parallel with Rt 80. Its a 2 lane country road without much traffic. Follow the signs for State College (staying on 64) and it puts you on to I99 which leads to the campus (same road as when you take Exit 161. There is not much other than a gas station, McDonalds and a Denny's at the Lamar exit but it is probably the most convenient place to stay outside of State College if travelling on Rt 80 from NJ.

There is also a Hampton inn right by the comfort inn. that's where i am staying. ive been told pretty easy to get to and from before and after game.

Looks like if you want to stay on Saturday night only, there are no rooms available, but rooms are available if you stay Friday and Saturday nights.
Unfortunately, most of the hotels in the area have a 2 night minimum policy. It really sucks having to pay for 2 nights if you don't want both. It's a money making scheme the hotels came up with years ago.

If you're staying in Lamar, I'd second the other poster who recommended going on Rte 64 to get to State College. It's a good road and not overly busy. Enjoy the game!
