Penn State Visits Rutgers Friday Night For B1G Dual Meet

You sure he can RS still? Some saying he can’t any longer?

BTW he is at Mexico Team Trials so wont be wrestling this weekend.
Yes, he has only had 4 dates. 11/17-LIU and NC State, 11/22-Va Tech, 12/29-Midlands(two day tournaments count as one date) 1/12-Ohio State. He has one more left.

I hope Barbosa is not hurt or injured. I think it's smart to save him for Sunday. Either White or Ford, it doesn't matter which one gets teched or pinned. Same at 149, whether it's Clark or Nini, same result.

KidDagger: Why are you questioning Shawver? He's listed in the lineup.
On the PSU boards it said Shawver was listed as out vs PSU that’s why I wanted to confirm if it was true… and if Barbosa can still have a date to wrestle he should save it for Illinois not vs Mesenbrink.

Neither one will AA, but Barbosa stands the better chance to go the farthest, even if just one round. That aside, Barbosa is the best choice to win duals.
Thats my point, what does one round farther get you. It basically gets you 2 more team points. Here are the remaining duals-
From Wrestlestat
#23 Scoles-Illinois- this is one where I would use his last date(however, Scott above said he is away at Mexican freestyle trials
#17 Andrew Sparks Minnesota-very slim chance we win this dual, but if he is away this weekend, maybe he goes this match.
#81-Best-Maryland-we do not need Barbosa here to win dual
#132-Nivison-Mich St-we do not need him to win dual
#86-Troczynski-Penn-we do not need him to win dual.

Makes most sense to use him vs Scoles but i guess if he’s away then yeah

If you can’t get out from bottom, you don’t deserve to win.

If Shawver doesn’t figure out how to get out from bottom soon, he’ll be 2-2 at the national tournament.

That was a trash match from Davis. Stalled his way to a win. Didn’t do anything for 7 minutes and walks away victorious.
Dylan really didnt do anything either. 1 shot basically

Dont get it. Last year had such a high attack rate. Its why he AA’d

Ugh I had a bad feeling Shawver would lose.. Davis is underrated.. he went for it Vs Nebraska so he played closer to the vest this match.. at least Peterson won

Penn State probably wins the next 8 bouts but if Rutgers can pull off an upset somewhere, the crowd will go wild and that’s a good message to send to Bassett

Shawver needs to get tougher on top. Can't rely on a high crotch every match.

Barbosa supposedly in Mexico as per Tim Johnson, for those not watching on TV.

Would have liked to have seen Harer on top instead of choosing bottom. Sometimes I think its better to pick your strength in certain situations and Kasak already has 1:30 of riding time.

Great to see the arena sold out. Would love to see the place rocking but today is gonna be tough. It really is crazy how Penn State makes great wrestlers look ordinary.

Agree, I was pretty surprised by that. Kasak took neutral in 2nd cause he did not want to go bottom. Gotta take top and see what happens.

That was truly rough to watch. Pretty telling IMO. Doesn't seem like his heart is in the sport anymore. Hopefully he can regroup. That wasn't the Poz we all know and he clearly gave up. Just wish we got pissed off and fought.
