Don't care about Schiano one way or the other, but I will happily take all your merlot.NO SCHIANO! Just like NO MERLOT!
1) Herman
2) Fuentes
3) Campbell
4) Babers
5) Rhule
No Golden. No Pellini. NO KIFFIN (What a mistake that would be).
LOL! [laughing]Don't care about Schiano one way or the other, but I will happily take all your merlot.
I hope I'm wrong but Herman is not coming here. After the season he had at Houston this year Missouri, South Carolina and maybe Miami will be willing to pay at least 3 million plus. You have a Board that develops acid reflux over 1.5 million in salary and maybe $600 for OC/DC combined (right or wrong?). Be realistic, I know it's not fun but at the very least think of who we can afford and why. I say it's between Edsall or Rhule. If the administration opens up the wallet a real long shot is Ridriguez.
We are paying around $800k for coordinators now.
I actually beleive this would be the case.schiano left RU with a program we could all be proud of. he took over one of the worst D-1 football programs in the nation. he turned it into a program that brought a lot of excitement to the fans and state. the block Rs were everywhere. Flood comes in and trashes everything schiano built. bring back schiano and watch what happens. if he came back there would be headlines everywhere. the recruits would be excited as would most of the fan base. it would be huge !!!!!!
I'll throw out a name that will probably get me an immense amount of grief, but something to think about: Brady Hoke.
I know he got fired at Michigan and the record there did not look great, but he played a hell of a tough schedule there, and now Harbaugh is doing great with his recruits. Lots of guys who became successful have had at least one bad stint. Carroll, Holtz, Amaker is doing fine at Harvard now, Belicheck (sucked at Cleveland).
Hoke is, from what I've read, a good recruiter, and he did turn two other programs around. At 57, he's unlikely to leave quickly if successful.
Just thinking outside the box a bit.
I wonder what RU's defensive stats would be if they played Tech, A&M, Bama, Mississpi State, and LSU. Last year he had that defense playing way over their heads. Top ten in scoring and total defense. And don't forget he was our DC in 2012. Remember that defense?never been a head coach
hates recruiting
someone posted his stats at Arky yesterday and they ain't to great.
Why don't you want Fleck?Realistic guys? Any MAC not names Fleck. Could live with Golden or Schiano but don't want pro set o
Nice article on CampbellWho would you pick that's a reasonable choice? Matt Campbell at Toledo would be the first guy I would call. I just want you guys to move on from Flood and hope it happens at the end of this season.
Besides his antics which most don't like and the fact that he's never been a coordinator, his teams usually end up losing to the other top teams/coaches in the division. He hasn't won the division let alone a conference championship yet.Why don't you want Fleck?
Because the teams we are playing are chopped liver? As I said, someone posted the stars this year and they ain't great. He needs to do it every year like Narduzzi did. Not just when schedule or senior talent allows. Also, we'd only be hiring him because of money but you think we would have extra money to throw at "great recruiters"I wonder what RU's defensive stats would be if they played Tech, A&M, Bama, Mississpi State, and LSU. Hates recruiting? Well he's a great X's and O's guy. He can just hire some great recruiters instead being one of those good recruiting coaches that needs help on game day. I can think of a few candidates that fit in that category.
He lost to Flood, enough said. Now, get back in the box! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:I'll throw out a name that will probably get me an immense amount of grief, but something to think about: Brady Hoke.

I'm not not one who emphasizes recruiting over coaching. I'll always take the guy who I think is the better coach and developer of what talent he does get. I'll take others at face value who say Smith hates recruiting.I wonder what RU's defensive stats would be if they played Tech, A&M, Bama, Mississpi State, and LSU. If Strong stays at Texas,Herman could be available. if Strong leaves for Miami,Herman takes over at Texas. in either scenario ,Strong will not be available. I think Herman would be a very good get,but ru would have to come up with the money. Fuentes is the other option, but he will also command a big salary. These three guys are my choices as all are proven winners with the reputation to turn recruits heads.

Tonight we see it again too. Plenty of chances to win the game and they couldn't get it done. If some of these other top coaches in the MAC get hired away this offseason then I can maybe see him taking a step up but then in my mind that would be a little deceiving and false.
There is that.He lost to Flood, enough said. Now, get back in the box! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
