One of the more enjoyable aspects of watching this RU team is that so many of our guys are making extra-effort type plays.

Beyond just playing outstanding individual or team defense, we’re seeing different guys coming up with offensive rebounds, blocks, steals, tipped passes, hustle plays like diving on the floor or saving a ball going out of bounds, etc., all things I would consider extra-effort plays.

Those plays make this team so easy to root for. Throw in a couple of timely threes, fast breaks, monster dunks and an alley oop or two, with everything leading to more victories over good teams, and you can see why this has been such a fun year for RU fans.

I agree and the sharing of the basketball and making that extra pass for an easy layup has been so nice to watch. We are finishing way better around the basket than we were earlier in the season.

One of my favorite plays from the Indiana game was when Yeboah hustled to save the ball from going out of bounds. Two Indiana players closest to the ball stood there watching. Paul Mulcahy read the play, reacted fast and cut in front of them to get the ball from Yeboah.

Some plays ignite the home crowd and lift the players into making more great plays. So I’ll say the RU fans have made a few great plays too.

We win 50/50 balls. A humongous factor in winning basketball. It is awesome to see. And yes, the hustle plays get us fans going.

Love this take! This is what makes this team feel so special right now. Sooo many different players contributing with different players stepping up with good games each game but beyond that everyone has these winning plays each game. A lot of times from the players who aren't having a good game

Not only are we a great defensive team, but we’re tough to defend. Too many guys to worry about.

Spot on. I had a buddy who’s a big Wisconsin fan text me during the IU game. He said “you guys just want it more, making all the hustle plays.” So others are noticing too.
