Points where Flood lost me

The VT game was horrifying. I never saw a QB look more frazzled than that game. He was shell shocked and completely out of it.

Playing Coleman all season when he was very obviously not healthy was also a big one.
Apparently Turay is not healthy this year and is also ineffective.
Running Hamilton out there against Penn St.
Simply awful coordinator and coaching hires,

But mostly it's about putting kids on the field, who have no business being on the field. Whether it was Nova when he was obviously shot against VT, or Coleman when he couldn't run, or Hamilton for no apparent reason at Penn St or Turay this year. He has not shown to have any feel for whether or not someone should be on the field. It makes me wonder who else shouldn't be out there and it really makes me wonder about roster management.
Agreed on VT. I held onto the belief about Flood's character until I read the report when he was suspended. Should have been fired at that time.

The hiring a Defensive Coordinator debacle. Wasn't spring practice about start and there was still no DC?

In fact, there were a lot of questionable coaching hires by Flood.

When I heard of the hire I always assumed that it would be no longer than a 3 month assignment. Get the recruiting class in bide time to do a proper coaching search and get someone in no later than spring ball. I knew from the get go he wasn't the right guy. His stint as co offensive coordinator was a disaster. His OL's underachieved but the instance that I knew he was the wrong guy was watching his personality on the sideline in his first year. Little excitement, little to no outward signs of coaching or interaction with the other coaches and players. That was a watershed moment for me. He didn't know what to do or how to act. He was attempting to learn on the job.

2009 Syracuse game.. Kyle Flood was co-OC in charge of the running game. A depleted Syracuse squad (having just thrown a bunch of bad boys off the team) with a losing record .. embarrassed us badly simply by blitzing every down.

Some of us were complaining about the scheme prior tot hat game, but we had been winning and to many here it seemed like a lot of whining.

The following season, 2010, all our opponents must have seen tape of that Syracuse game, because they all thumped us with the same tactic... save SYRACUSE itself who we beat in a close one simply because we probably looked at least years tape and switched things up a bit. It was the one game where the OL was allowed to fire out and hit people.

Flood was a bad OC. Probably a bad OL coach too... because he is also a bad head coach. He was probably too good a guy for Schiano to fire after he demoted him from OC.. so he named him associate head coach.

He should never have been named head coach other than on an interim basis.

I have an easier time telling you the ONE thing that Flood did that I liked.. the hiring of Ralph Friedgen. At least that got us one decent year with Nova. Though I wonder if Fridge would have chosen Nova from day one like Flood did. Nova had some real bonehead moves that would have me wondering if he should be back there even in a backup role.
