His latest articles on Ash have been spectacular and have me even more excited about Ash and this regime than I've ever been about Rutgers football save for maybe 06 . Even last year when he was writing negative articles he was still spot on. Some of you just had your flood glasses on and couldn't see the forest for the trees. The Josh and Ted articles of the star ledger days were bull I agree but all the "negative" articles of the past year were our own doing and we deserved to be called out on them.

Yes he is spot on with all the great articles about UNC on cheating they have been doing over 18 years. Great stuff by a guy who looks like a penis with glasses on. I get that UNC is his Alma mater but he's a NJ sports writer. why would he write an article about something in North Carolina?. I believe the OP is pointing out that Politi was right about Flood and right about Julie and has been nothing but positive about the changed that RU has undergone. I hope that as long as RU does well, keeps the players out of jail and the coaches away from clandestine meetings in Princeton his positive writing continues.
If politi helped get flood and Julie out the door and Hobbs and ash in then he did us a huge favor.

The condom is directly responsible for steering public opinion by solely focusing on the negative stories in RU sports. It's not even the negative stories, but that each time he writes a piece of smear fiction, he drags out every story from the past half decade which have no bearing on the current piece of fiction. The condom writes each piece to be sensational in self-interest. He is scum of the highest order. His job is to report on news, not create news. Posters are saying he is great because he got rid of Hermann and Flood. How the hell should that be in the realm of his power?
Guys this is spot on. And there is a difference between how the media feels and how they express it. Any writer could feel a certain way, but to lay out your feelings in the manner in which the ledger and some others have done is uncalled for and does the state or it's university any good. Politi (who we are actually empowering constantly), is a sports writer... No better or worse than any other - he is just another sports fan like any of us... No better. Imagine some of the articles members of this board would write if they had an open mic ?
The really interesting thing is that Politi has been handed two of the best circumstances a sports writer could have:
1- write about a sports program with a ton of potential in the media capital. Politi grows as our program grows, and we can be huge.
2. Have your alma mater involved in a major sports scandal. The journalists who really are great and care about what they do, they take on this task. It proves you're more than just a fan voicing an opinion, that you actually know what you're talking about and should be heard
He could have done a column on it, but he's writing for a New Jersey paper covering a NJ college football beat. It's kinda ridiculous to think HE HAS to write about a scandal involving his alma mater.
People here may not believe it, but I'd imagine at least 3/4 of the people who read his work have no idea where he went to school...
Where you are mistaken is that he is a columnist, not a reporter. A reporter gets facts, follows only one or two teams, writes stories, and generally keeps their opinion out of it. A columnists job is to share their opinion. You will see in any newspaper that the columnist is the biggest cheerleader when things are good and kick people when they are down. A columnist and reporter have very different jobs.
Ill pass...Politi and his hack writing smeared Rutgers image waaay more than it needed...of the incidents over the last year his writing was a lot worse than other outlets covering the same topic and rehashing prior incidents that in no way were connected to that story...as another poster pointed out Ryan Dunleavy's exact same article on Ash's plan weeks earlier is a much better read...i can't believe people are supporting and sticking up for this hack...his writing style is not good at all and the negative stuff he wrote about RU was not deserved, as well as ignoring or not giving as much attention to the positive things the team did...

I can't believe people fall for this crap - Mulcahy, Pernetti, JH, etc. People are now suggesting this a hole helped with Flood and JH, give me a fing break.

I will never forgive or forget what the NSL or whatever you want to call them did to Mulcahy and Rutgers. Politi is a member of that organization so he gets no respect or support from me.
