This is the same "Call your shots" type of Politi or On the Banks article that was written just a couple of months ago, after a 4-0 start spiraled to 4-4......any fan who follows the press conferences of Schiano, he essentially said everything Pike said, just in a different level of spin.....this was after the debacle of UCLA and Homecoming. But granted UCLA had the better QB, better WRs and playmakers on the field.
Schiano makes a statement to fans, or maybe more than that.

Here is Schiano after the UCLA Homecoming loss.....
I’ll just close it with this, guys. We will get there,” Schiano said. “This program will get there. I know that there’s going to be certain people that want to cast their ballot and say, oh, we’ve got big problems. You call your shot. Just remember, we will get there, I promise you. So you want to call your shot now, just call it. But know that you’re calling your shot. This program will be just fine. Thank you.”
Schiano has mastered the element of coach-speak following games. It is no surprise when looking at the recent history of the program. Schiano is 23-29 overall, 10-30 in Big Ten play, since returning in 2020. This was a year that brought accelerated expectations with three conference victories during a Big Ten only schedule. Hopes were let down once again as the team went 1-8 in the Big Ten in 2022. A seven-win season in 2023 and a large majority of returning starters made many believe that Rutgers could compete in the Big Ten.
Those notions have gone away midseason.
The Scarlet Knights have been outplayed in each of the last four games. If it wasn’t for Washington shooting themselves in the foot constantly, Rutgers would be in the midst of a four-game losing streak. Let’s focus on today.
Schiano took the podium following another poor performance against the Bruins and put his usually words to the side. Fans have heard constantly about “Chopping the moment” but at this point, what does that mean? The performances on the field have not lived up to expectations."
Same narrative, same coachspeak, same results......
