Yes, but do they realize Bac says the timeline is unacceptable? We are hiring a school President not an entry level employee. This takes time. Plus we have a Governor getting elected this year. We have already started the process of hiring a President when we still have the current guy for 6 months.
No he didn't. Not on Greg. That poster is a know it all who don't know shit loudmouth. Not even sure WTF the 55+ comment is supposed to be--an insult?Nailed it
Yeah, the "issues" started when you joined the board. This is a non-issue article. Expecting a coach mid-season to "level" with a reporter on what, exactly has gone wrong in a disappointing season besides the obvious impact of injuries is disingenuous and would likely throw his players and/or coaches under the bus. These issues started well before Harper rolled his ankle
A quick google found thisYes, but do they realize Bac says the timeline is unacceptable?
What a bunch of useless babble from her:If one believes the assertion that the AD search begins after new president is hired, the interviews would begin last this year, possibly October or November.
Amy Towers said the prez search would begin this month and take nine or ten months. That takes us to September or October.
The new prez will have a lot on the plate but with athletics a priority I expect the AD search to commence soon after the new prez starts.
Let's say the AD search takes 3 months. Then, Rutgers will welcome the new AD in early 2026.
Wrong again.Uh, pike had nothing to do with ace, and only some with Harper.
“Anybody who comes and sits down on your couch and talks with your parents like he did,” Bailey said.
“He’s been real every day since Day 1. You can have a coach who says one thing and then when you get there, it is totally different. I just felt something different with coach Pikiell. My mom liked it, we’re big on family. That was a big thing.”
Those are words. But knight has a very very strong connection with the family. Without that Pike couldn’t have even flown into ATL.Wrong again.
You’d think coach Pike has ADHD,” Bailey told Rutgers Wire with a laugh.
“Coach Pike is always happy. If he is ever going through anything, you will never be able to tell because he always keeping a smile on his face. He’s up there. He’s a loving, caring man, always a respectful man. He is a great coach even off the court. He’s still a great coach. I mean, coach is always loving and caring – like my sisters, my brothers – he loves on them like he loves on me. It means a lot.”
It was that connection with Pikiell that mattered to Bailey,
He did so because he believed that Pikiell is different than any other coach in the nation who had been recruiting. Bailey didn’t feel like a recruit when Pikiell talked with him.
He felt like family when he committed to Rutgers nearly 15 months ago.

Jay Wright loved Ace’s defense. I’m going to go with the multi- national champion coach over anyone on this board. You went 3/4 way. You didn't say if the star players aren't going to play defense and rebound they need to sit.
Yeah, words. And words have meaning. And those words were not about Knight. But you’re so obnoxiously obtuse that that you can’t accept direct quotes as truth. Those are words. But knight has a very very strong connection with the family. Without that Pike couldn’t have even flown into ATL.

The other funny thing is seeing the anti-Ledger crowd all of a sudden loving Politi being critical of Pikiell. I like Politi and have just minor issues with the article grandstanding a bit and being disingenuous as I said above. Coaches of underperforming teams are going to get some heat - it goes with the territory. Doesn't mean anyone with any brains thinks Pike should be fired, like most of the anti-Pike morons who post here, mostly when things are bad and who are silent when things are good.
Words matter. Especially words from the mouth of Bailey instead of some disgruntled loudmouth fan on a tirade. Those are words. But knight has a very very strong connection with the family. Without that Pike couldn’t have even flown into ATL.
Paywall.
Know it all LMFAO someone needs to look in a mirror once in a while. No he didn't. Not on Greg. That poster is a know it all who don't know shit loudmouth. Not even sure WTF the 55+ comment is supposed to be--an insult?
Politis job is to generate clicks and that often means reaching out to the low iq portion of the audience.
I have always hated Politi and his schtick, and you and I have disagreed about it. That's what makes this board interesting. Respectful disagreements. These people clinging on to Politi are hilarious.
Pikiell is a nice guy,and when nice guys finish last, it can be brutal. But he fed the hype for this season, and not he has to deal with the fallout.
That said, I just listened to the post-game presser, and if that is what Politi's article is ranting and raving about, he has lowered his idiot bar even lower. I have no problem with the way Pikiell answered the questions. Pikiell is a positive mindset kind of coach. Thankfully, he not a Cronin.

Why? Do we need to make a major hire right now? It's never a good thing but we're not hiring one until we get a school President. We'll be okay for 9-12 more months. That’s all well and good, but not having an athletic Director for this long is not a good thing
I ran into Politi on the way down the ramps after Ash's game against Howard, the one in the 90 plus degree heat, and Rutgers was losing 14-0 early in the game. Never mind Rutgers won 52-14. I remember him being giddy and snarky about writing how Howard "almost" beat Rutgers. I busted on him and told him to try writing a positive piece for once, pointing out Rutgers outscored Howard 52-0 after the rough start.Politis job is to generate clicks and that often means reaching out to the low iq portion of the audience.
Alot of changes and decisions happening in the world of college sports right nowWhy? Do we need to make a major hire right now? It's never a good thing but we're not hiring one until we get a school President. We'll be okay for 9-12 more months.

In all fairness, Pike also didn't need to go down the path he did either. It felt self serving and tone deaf. He could have just said he was disappointed with our poor play and results to date and takes full responsibility - it's his roster and his coaching - but that he knows the team has the talent to make a run still and judge him after the season. Simple and effective message that doesn't throw anyone under the bus and also doesn't gaslight the fanbase. No one wants to hear about the gpa's of paid mercenary athletes who will spend less than a year at the school.Yeah, the "issues" started when you joined the board. This is a non-issue article. Bringing up GPA is moving the goalposts. Schiano 1.0 and APR, and now Pike dropping the clumsy GPA misdirection is par for the course for coaches who aren’t winning.

lol..stick your head in the sandSuch as?
Pisarri has been at Rutgers for 15 or so years. It's not like the ship is without a Captain. Better to find the right person and make a great hire than circle the wagons and get someone like Julie.
Stick yours somewhere else.lol..stick your head in the sand
trust me jay wright doesnt like ace’s defense.Jay Wright loved Ace’s defense. I’m going to go with the multi- national champion coach over anyone on this board.
Ace finally stop going for the pump fakes. Progresstrust me jay wright doesnt like ace’s defense.
It’s not an act. He is a nice guy. But that doesn’t excuse his coaching failures.glad the media is starting to see through pike’s nice guy act
lol move onStick yours somewhere else.
Be happy, man. Life is still good.
BTW, I called my shot. The AD of NIU. They extended him after Hobbs resigned. But we wanted someone who learned at a great peer institution, Wisconsin (under Barry Alavarez), and has run his own show at MAC school, Sean Frazier, the one Rutgers stupidly passed over for Julie, would be a great hire.

You're a laugh.Try folks just donating 4 figures to NIL and Rutgers. I guess guys want to make excuses about contributing shyt. I can't donate 7 figures therefore I donate shyt.. Many who do donate their fan share and are truly loyal to RU find it offensive and bullshyt when guys donate with their mouths and act like know it all.Nailed it
This from Julie's most avid ( maybe only ) defender . Here's something to discuss if we never hired that failure maybe we'd be way ahead of the game now. You do blame game so well ,try acknowledging how wrong you were .lol move on
Pike is a really good guy and has been overall good for Rutgers but this year he has been a colossal failure and he has to take ownership for disappointing results. Rutgers has more money coming into the coffers coming up and if Pike can’t get this turned around next year with a lot less talent then a change may have to be made!I’m someone who has always liked Pike, but sometimes he does or says things that comes across as if he thinks he knows better than everyone
Neither is citing GPA and making the NCAAs several years ago.Calling out your team in the media doesn't make you strong.
Pike is not a great coach, recruiter or manager of the program. He fails to recognize the needs of the team. Things will only get worse. He fails to do the extra steps needed to sustain/improve the program. In my opinion the future of the program looks bleak.Pike is a really good guy and has been overall good for Rutgers but this year he has been a colossal failure and he has to take ownership for disappointing results. How about saying the roster has not provided the 3 point scoring need to win games or has not shown consistency in performance at both ends of the court.Pikiell is a nice guy who won't publicly criticize individual players so all you are going to get during interviews is deflecting what is happening on the court,The only thing that matters right now is a 10-10 record with many of the toughest games yet to be played with or without Harper.Changes in the coaching staff are a must happening for next season along with better choices from the transfer portal like Spencer and Yeboah. What is he supposed to say?
Sorry I made a massive mistake going the one and done route.
Complain about the lack of NIL
Question why Harper didn't play like the guy who practiced yesterday
Say the team is fighting for shots after Ace takes a few bad ones
Say the team takes on the identity of their freshman stars
What is a guy who knows this season is over and the future of the program is based on guys on other teams right now supposed to say?
That is scary. That clown (whoever he is) would send us back to the Stone Age as a University. He is likely to scare off University Presidents who are considering applying as well. F us.What a bunch of useless babble from her:
"“There are themes that are already emerging,” she said. “People want someone who’s a good communicator. They want somebody who appreciates a multi-campus university."
Rutgers better hope Steven Fulop does not win the election for Governor:
"Mayor Baraka is 100% right, now is no time to cower to bullies. But let’s be clear - Rutgers as an institution has fostered a bully culture for a few years now. One that targets employees with institutional knowledge and memory, which does a disservice to the students. Look no further than the most recent additions to the Board as where the worst of NJ politics and higher education intertwine here. When I’m Governor of New Jersey, I will end the university’s bend toward corporate interests and machine favors, and I will nominate retired professors and staff to serve as members of the Board of Governors."
How does that help? Saying a player is a bad shooter isn't going to encourage him to make more shotsHow about saying the roster has not provided the 3 point scoring need to win games or has not shown consistency in performance at both ends of the court.Pikiell is a nice guy who won't publicly criticize individual players so all you are going to get during interviews is deflecting what is happening on the court,The only thing that matters right now is a 10-10 record with many of the toughest games yet to be played with or without Harper.Changes in the coaching staff are a must happening for next season along with better choices from the transfer portal like Spencer and Yeboah.
A person speaking like that in Ohio, Michigan, Nebraska or Wisconsin would have zero chance getting elected. In NJ voters will run and vote for someone who talks like that. NJ loves to eat its own. It makes NJ people tougher, but battle scarred and held down too. That is scary. That clown (whoever he is) would send us back to the Stone Age as a University. He is likely to scare off University Presidents who are considering applying as well. F us.
