I voted Schiano after 999 paper cuts.
Rationale: Schiano knows NJ and recruiting NJ better than Golden. Schiano has NFL experience, Golden does not . Schiano has respect of some major players and coaches in NFL, not sure on Golden. Schiano knows Rutgers better than Golden. Schiano's and Golden's records are about even, but Golden had much better recruiting classes.
Schiano's sweat glands are under better control, giving him more of the stain that matters. I hate coaches that wear ties on the sidelines. These are my reasons, and they are better than anyone's reasons.

Greg is my No.1 choice baring a homerun hire (Richt, looks like he will be at Miami or Mullen?)

I'd take Golden over alot of names being floated about such as Mario etc.

Schiano in a heartbeat. I don't blame him for giving the NFL a shot. Only 32 guys on the planet get to do that job, and you don't pass up that opportunity or dictate the timing of it. Golden made his feelings about RU clear in the past, and then did no better than Gary in a conference that almost all here said was worse than the BE. This with 4 and 5 star recruits. I think Schiano will recruit better with the B1G to sell.

I go Golden over Schiano. Nothing tells me Schiano will be any better this time around. His recruiting was good, not great. When a win over Louisville is your biggest win, I think we need to have higher aspirations. Not a huge Golden fan but anyone but Schiano.

It was still Louisville. A Big East team in a conference Schiano never won. Not an Alabama And they were #3 when we beat them.

Truly a dumb post man... Louisville was expected to be a strong contender for the national championship that year.

Remember how they had a great team the year BEFORE. I think they finished the season in the top 15-18.

People can hate Schiano all they want, but it's really stupid to diminish what he did. Guess what? That Louisville win was the biggest win by RU in 25 years.

I don't diminish what Greg did. I thank him for everything he did. I just think he is not the right coach to get us to the next level. We can agree to disagree on that.

There is a huge difference between believing he can't take Rutgers to the next level and minimizing what he did here.

Golden should have won the ACC coastal every year with that talent..I don't think he's a big improvement over what we had..

If that's the choice...Schiano or Golden, then I'd go with Schiano.

There's just something that doesn't thrill me about hiring a guy who was so hated by his former school's fanbase they were flying banners over the stadium begging for him to get canned.

I believe you can tell everything you need to know about somebody by looking at their face.

Al Golden looks like a sleaze...has a dishonest look about him. Like a used car salesman that is a big glad-hander but sucks at his job.

Let's see Schiano brought Rutgers to respectability in the Big East of West Virginia, Louisville, Cincy, USF, and Pitt

Golden brought Temple to respectability in the MAC of . . . oh never mind.

Hell at least Rhule is doing it in the AAC.

and what you makes you think that Golden can take us to the next level when the guys couldn't achieve diddly with arguably more resources available at UM than at RU at his disposal?

The poll was Schiano or Golden. Since I don't think Schiano can take us to the next level, I chose Golden. I'm not sold on him either, but that was the poll choices. If Schiano came back, I would support him 100%. However, I think this fan base needs to realize this is not a desirable job. I don't think we will ever get the type of coach we really want. Time to take a shot on an up and comer. Greg isn't coming back.

Just changed to paper cuts. It's a more enjoyable death than watching Rutgers this year. And if the past continues, Rutgers football is going to kill me so I have to think long term.

If they hire Golden good luck. Couldn't win the ACC coastal with great recruiting classes. He's a moron.

This program needs to be energized . Neither Schiano nor Golden will provide the juice. They are retreads , old school and they've had their chance with only very modest positive returns. They belong in the trash heap of coaches- with all the rest of the previous RU HC .

Schiano in a heartbeat! I was here from way before 2001 when he was hired and saw what he accomplished at RU to make us a respected football program. When he left he had a top 25 recruiting class and had RU on the way to perennial top 25 finishes coming back from the tough years after the injury to Eric LeGrand. Anyone who didn't follow Schiano's career at RU from the beginning can't understand what he accomplished or what he's capable of as a coach. Assuming he has the desire and energy to do it again, he would be my choice. I would bet anything that Urban Meyer, Jim Harbaugh and especially Franklin don't want to see Schiano at RU.
