PSU game Wed night

One misconception in this thread. Anyone can eat at the Rutgers Club ( if it is open with no private function). You need to be a member to get alcohol.

THIS. I just called & confirmed. It’s open to the public for food. However, you either have to be a “paid member” or “be with a paid member” to be served any alcohol. There’s bar food menu at the bar and then a buffet prior to the game. It’s walking distance to RAC. Sometimes they run a tram back & forth.

FYI: Membership is $100 for calendar year ($150/couple). They also have nice events! Food is very good! Went to sweetheart’s night for $45/per person (all in, excludes alcohol, plus I left extra tip, because it’s RU students who are the servers). Had a 5 course meal, and it was a lot of quality food & excellent (lobster bisque, filet mignon, etc). For $40pp, I signed up for Celtic night with a traditional Irish buffet featuring Irish whisky & Irish music. What’s not to love about that?

Go RU!

I'm pretty sure that the RAC parking lot has officially been designated as the coldest place on earth. My wife will attest to that though i tell her that since the new dorms went up across the street and the solar panels put in place that the wind has been reduced and now its only in the top 5.

Amen brother.

Down to 101 seats available in StubHub right now. 10 in 100s between $100-170, 9 in the 200s between $48-72, and 82 in the 300s <$30

3 hours to tipoff, and just 54 tickets left on StubHub (9 in 100s, 11 in 200s, and 34 scattered across the 300s).... curious if those were speculative buys just for resale, if they're people who really can't go and are trying to offload, or if it's people who will go to the game if no one buys them.

Someone's got Sec 103, Row A up there for $170.... assuming that's someone just trying to recoup season ticket money who'll be there if they don't sell.

Arena should be packed to the rafters, though, which is great.

I can't go due to health reasons and sold my pair in 206 under face today. Hardly anyone on the tix exchange so that leads me to believe those are profit takers.

In the end, who would have expected those prices to begin the year.

Hopefully watching a win on TV tonight will be good for your health!

I need some new lungs as well, anyone on the board willing to donate?
2 years ago I could shovel my 40' by 2 car drive no problem. This year I can't do a single 10' path without going crisis.

Just got massive 21 day script of steroids. Me, psu fans, and me on steroids NOT a good formula lol.

Oh yeah ... turned on my car and heard Eye of the Tiger playing ... it’s a sign!

GO RU!!!!!

Most pumped I’ve been all year. Can’t wait to get to The RAC.

F*** Penn State!

obviously a tough loss last night, so I won't belabor the point. just wanted to say i was super impressed with the arena and the turn out of the fans. The RAC is just appropriately sized...not too big (like Bryce Joyner Center....the effin Sixers could play in there), and not too small. During the 2nd half come back...holy hell...that place was LOUD and thumping with bass. i mean, it was a little annoying for me lol....especially since we were blowing our huge lead (cause that's what we do), but i could still acknowledge the fact that it was awesome and provided a true home court advantage. quite frankly, if i was recruit, i'd would've been impressed last night...not with Gio's shooting;) ...but the atmosphere and the enthusiasm from it's fans. and next year, they're serving beers?...fuhgeddaboudit

besides that....coming from Delaware, it was a straight shot up the turnpike. took me 1.5 hours flat. went to Harvest Moon brewery for some beers...bunch of Rutgers and PSU alums in there...it was nice. Since you guys were scaring me about traffic, I was conservative and left there around 6:10, took Cedar to Rd 3 or 1 or whatever, and it was definitely congested by the arena (sh*t-show is more like it) but now that i know my way around a little....i think i would just Cedar and take a left up Sutton to get those back lots to spare me some hassle.

anyway, it was a pleasant trip. always helps to win. I'll definitely be back.

Next time get back on 18N follow signs to RAC. Skip those back roads.

Almost got you there at the end. Seems like we had the ball in the paint for the last 10 seconds and couldn't draw a foul or put the damn ball in the basket.

Thanks for the feedback - marginally glad you enjoyed yourself.

If you were from any other school we could maybe call you... friend.

But PSU? We still hate you. LOL

Congrats on the W. Nice to hear your feedback, thank you. Had RU played well the FULL game, the RAC would have been rockin’ the entire time, believe me! One of RU’s best assets is its great location. Being so centralized, it’s a relatively easy drive from NY, PA, Delaware, MD, etc. for its fans/alumni & recruits/players & their families. I’m hoping with a new vendor coming in, the food at the RAC will take a giant leap forward to go along with the beer/wine being served, starting next year. No reason to NOT get that right. We go to the Hospitality in the corner where food/alcohol is served now and it’s great! The RU Club (walking distance) gets packed before every game, too. They have a buffet & beautiful bar but you have to be a paid member or with a paid member to be served alcohol as previously stated above.

Anyway, we split the games this year. Future is bright.

Go RU!

Next time get back on 18N follow signs to RAC. Skip those back roads. really?....that's the way to go? It seemed more congested from that side. though, i could be wrong. so the way I came, everybody was turning left off Cedar to Rd 3/1 (i was just following cars), but nobody was going straight. I figure...go straight and turn left onto Sutton and park at those lots back there and skip all the crazy traffic around the arena. seems to make sense. well, i went home that way and had no trouble. though it helped I sprinted down the steps as soon as Dread threw the ball past center court...all the fans were unfortunately frozen in disbelief (been there)...so i beat everyone else to the parking lot.

Almost got you there at the end. Seems like we had the ball in the paint for the last 10 seconds and couldn't draw a foul or put the damn ball in the basket. the whole arena thought you guys were going to get a bucket there at the end. after watching the end again when i got home, i'm just glad the refs let them play and didn't call a crappy foul. obviously, it was physical, but definitely clean. Reeves blocked the last shot, but i'm not sure what happened the shot before. it might've been deflected, i couldn't tell. but yeah...insane ending

Thanks for the feedback - marginally glad you enjoyed yourself. I'm glad you could muster that up....lol....thanks. I did enjoy myself....love college athletics. I was 99% surrounded by Rutgers fans....had zero issues. I've been in these situations many times, so i know how to act. Plus, it was a lot of families, so i would've been shocked to hear anything inappropriate. any who...everything was fine.

got into work, talking my PSU buddy...kept telling him how sh*tty our arena is (no PSU fan disagrees on this) and how great the RAC was.

If you were from any other school we could maybe call you... friend. lol...that's funny.

But PSU? We still hate you. LOL fair enough:)

Sutton road was an utter disaster at around 6:20. Cluster$&@“ would be a kind way of describing it. They close off roads allowing students to leave the lots and only allow one way in past exiting students turning in both directions. Incredibly stupid set up with a cop sitting in a warm patrol car waiting for an accident to happen apparently versus directing things.

regarding how centralized it is, I absolutely agree. I know football is a different animal, but frankly, I'm shocked basketball recruiting hasn't gone through the roof because how centralized the school is within high school basketball country. Besides Villanova and Maryland, I guess...the fact you guys are in the Big Ten should be the driving force of landing higher end basketball recruits. Temple, St Joes, St Johns, etc should be losing recruits to you guys....and maybe that'll start happening...i dunno.

as much as I wanted to grab a beer at half time, the alcohol thing can be a slippery slope. especially from a visiting PSU fan perspective;) everyone was cool last night...but add a bunch of beers? could go the other way..lol

again, great time last night.

thank you

ahh gotcha. alright lol....thanks for mentioning. so much for that idea

People don't realize how loud the RAC is, Ben Howland said it was loudest arena in Big east.
