Millionaires are a dime a dozen these days. Anyone who owns a house in NJ without a mortgage and even a modest 401K account belongs to the club.
I agree. Which is why I used billionaires next. over 70% are totally self made with next to no inheritance.

I do think if they went to work at 22, theyd be making 6-figures with an upward career earnings trajectory by the time theyre 25. These kids hurt themselves dribbling a bball playing for pennies
What do you think a 3rd year teacher salary is in NJ? Police office? It’s definitely not 6 figures…. Are you saying nobody should take these jobs? I’m not following you here.

in most towns as a police officer they'll be making 6 figures by year 5. Teachers are a little less paid. However, by the time the teach is 32 (around the age that the player stops playing in europe) they'll likely have a 6-figure salary between teaching and coaching and be married with dual incomes and in excess of a $200K household income.

You can argue all you want but euro ball outside of the top few leagues is a total fools errand.

Yet somehow under 60% of households in NJ (not individuals, households) make 92K+. If it’s so easy to do, why aren’t most families in that bracket. That’s NJ, the rest of the country is much lower across the board.

He is not getting 400k unless you’re very bad with your money as a program. Why pay him 400k when you can go poach a very good player from another team. Trust me, he’ll get 100 tops but not 400 lol

Well this juat isn't accurate. I teach in Piscataway. Just finished my 21st year, and I'm still not making 6 figures. In fact, according to our most recent BOE meeting where teacher salaries were approved, exactly zero classroom teachers are above $100,000 per year. This is true almost everywhere in NJ. You're completely clueless here.

Likely because it's a lot of older folks living on fixed incomes. Now do ages 25-54 with college degrees.

For college grads alone in NJ it's $133K.

Making $100K+ a year isn't hard.

Yup. totally clueless
Euroball is a fool's errand unless you're in the top 10% of players because you could stay in the US and be in the top 1% of earners, yeah, makes sense - if it's a troll, it's brilliant because people keep replying.
In NJ a husband and wife who are both teachers have a household income of $200K+. I often feel like im talking to fast food workers here

LOL - we were talking about players going to play in Europe right out of college
You want to compare that to a married couple, both teachers in NJ (masters degree or making progress to it required?)
You financed your waterbed, didn't you?

Haha u guys brought up the median household income thing. Similar trajectory here. You guys say something dumb, I give an example of fact. You realize it was dumb what you said and then you gaslight haha.

But anyway, for real, if a college grad isnt making 6-figures 5 year post grad ask your college for a refund

But that kid playing in Europe isn’t supporting a family on only his income. How can you compare 2 people’s income in a household? That doesn’t make sense and those numbers were only brought up because that’s what’s available in census data.

And only about 15% of American “households” are retired (as you put it) and a portion of this group do make over 100k from their annuities and investments. So again, your just way off the mark here.

No they don't. My wife and I are both teachers in NJ, with Masters degrees. I'm 21 years in. She's 20 years in. We do not make $100k each. You're completely out of your element here.
Youre either in the wrong district or you dont coach just one sport. My friends who are teachers just 10 years in (started 2013) making over $100K/yr. They coach 2 sports each as well. They make near $130K-140K including camp and training fees

First of all, no they don't. Coaching stipends are not that much. Secondly, you're right. I no longer coach ant sports at all. But neither does the average teacher. Do you know how many coaching jobs there are in a school districts compared to the number of teachers? You act like every teacher has the ability to coach multiple sports, and it should therefore be counted as part of the average salary. You're a clown.
And btw, I work with a guy who coaches 3 sports and has been teaching for about 15 years. Not making 6 figures. Again, this is in Piscataway. Not the highest, but not at all a low paying district by NJ standards.

This is true.
A gym teacher in NJ can make over 100k in the right district with just bachelor’s degree .

Sure - fine. I put gym teacher / high school coach in the same category as AAU coach / trainer. These are career paths that involve leveraging their playing experience as BB players. Having a resume with pro playing experience helps get all of these jobs. Bios matter. Whose to say they can’t have fun playing abroad for a few years and then do these things?

KYK is underestimating the options these kids have when they return from enjoying themselves and playing abroad. A good number of them work their way up the college coaching / training circuit and do well. But even if they don’t go that route, there’s plenty of money to be made giving private lessons to 12U kids. When we sign up my boys for privates it’s $100-$120 an hour depending on who we do them with. The AAU trainers coach the teams (likely for peanuts) and recruit their privates from there. If we do a private, we prefer to book sessions with my boys’ current coach. I’m sure we’re not the only ones. Also - our experience has been that the trainer generally has another kid before and after us. We pay cash so I doubt all of it getting declared for tax either. Of course - I have no idea how much kick back goes to the owner of the AAU program for the use of the space and brand (then again, the owners of these programs are typically former players too - another possible career path post pro play).

Some good points there.
It's certainly more impressive for TJ Thompson's coaching resume that he played at GW and then played many years overseas rather than just playing at GW - he seems to be making a pretty good living with a bright future.

But who knows, if he'd skipped playing overseas and gone the Kyk path - he'd be worth countless millions by now, dominating boardwalk games and pissing excellence.

I think KYK better be careful. Land is finite resource whether your selling it or investing in it. If all these kids get in on his secret it might dip into his profits.

All my buddies and girls im friends with who are teachers make well over $100K. Most have only been teachers for 10-20 years. I know down to the dollar what they make because we take their financials for loan pre-approvals. Teacher I just sold a house made $131K last year. Rounding off numbers, $93K teacher salary, $15K for coaching stipend and around $23K for additional training she does on the side.

Oh and theres nothing preventing teachers from working in the summer fyi.

And very familiar with the stipends. Assistant coaches only get around $8500/season, in north jersey at least.

Fyi, when I got into real estate I was teaching from 8:30-2:30 daily and then doing real estate from 3-7 and on weekends. You can too and make well into the 6-figures, you just choose not to.

I LOVE THIS POST - to summarize
"All my buddies and girls im friends with who are teachers make well over $100K."
"$93K teacher salary, $15K for coaching stipend and around $23K for additional training she does on the side."
You're wasting your time in Real Estate, you should get into politics.

To match your douchebaggery, you could work 180 days a year, you just choose not to.

You can tell he’s lying by how he uses exact figures. The over the top details is a classic move by pathological liars.

To get ahead in life? Haha. Not complicated. By the time I was 25 I was 3 years out of college and making over $400,000/yr after being 22 fresh out of college and barely touching $100K 3 years prior.

Whats even worse? These idiot kids who then go off to europe to play for peanuts, stay in europe dribbling a basketball until theyre in their 30’s, make so little money that they cant even save anything, come back to the US with ZERO employable skills and wind having to work low skill low paying jobs living paycheck to paycheck the rest of their lives. Same goes for the football guys chasing xfl and usfl. Stop, go build a legitimate career
You have been making over 400k a year since 25. How much do you donate to Rutgers every year? Where do you sit at SHI and RAC?

Why? Haha you guys hate facts. This is all public info that can be looked up outside of $23K. The $93K and $15K (shes an assistant for 2 sports) can be looked up.

The head coaches make around $15K/season for football and then another $40-50K for 3 weeks of camps in the summer on top of their teacher salary. They do quite well

He also says assistant coaches make $8500. He is right about one thing. I must be in the wrong district. The only head coach making that much is high school football.
Assistant coaches stipends average about $8500. Its all public information and public record. Here you go. https://www.tapinto.net/towns/baski...pproves-stipend-amounts-for-ridge-h-s-coaches

Again, im just sharing facts. Facts make alot of people uncomfortable though because facts have a funny way of crushing narratives.
