Recruiting

This is great, but any rumblings about a heavyweight (or did I miss that)?
No, not a lot to choose from in the Portal. Hendrickson from Air Force, got approval to wrestle one more year-he and Yara were looking at same school....hopefully Hendrickson picks that school. Maybe RU can come up with some late NIL money for him and bring him back.

Colucci in the portal. Yara-Slav there now for 20 days. Where does Condomitti fit in? Harer is coming in at 157. Does Condomitti go 165? Does he beat White or Gayer? And O'Neil was undefeated this past year at 165. 🙄

RU had Dean Bechtold the 285 pounder and family on an official visit this weekend. He just won Super 32 beating Mocco. Nice young man and family. Also had Brent Harer for an official.
Is that Mocco related to the Blair NJ legend Mocco?

You might get harer but the heavy won’t come. He’ll end up at a top 10 program.

That would be a great pick up. Kudos to the coaches for getting him out here. Hopefully, he liked his visit and the momentum keeps going forward.

He's definitely a bit a late bloomer as he hasn't won a PA state title yet (finished 2nd last year) but lost by TF (15-0) in finals vs. Sean Kinney (who was a 3x champ). He also lost twice to Nick Pavlechko, who is an Indiana commit, during the season.. so he is a definite possibility at this point and not someone who is a lock for an elite program. Not saying we land him, but its certainly not someone we have 0 shot with.

Bechtold is ranked 5th by Flo and Mocco 6th. Mocco moved up from 215 and looks to be giving up weight to Bechtold. Mocco won the US Open two straight, first match by tech. Either will be a good get, but I think Mocco has more potential. His dad would be a great next coach at Rutgers if he were willing to leave Florida for NJ. Hmmm, package deal?

Parkins moved up to #4 at 138 on Flo, still behind Dalton Perry who he just beat H2H last weekend but which is a little curious but doesn’t make any difference. He has really developed over the past year so excited to see how much better he can get.

Chapman is #10 at 175, up a few spots after his great performance at Super 32.

Townson is at #19 at 132 now

I’m assuming he’ll be a 149 pounder at the college level but it would be nice if he and his brother put on some good weight over the next couple years and were able to wrestle 157/165.
