A legend passes….

Lived to almost 100 years old !

He coached some terrific teams back in the 80s with Mullin / Berry / Mark Jackson / Wennington etc.

He also coached the Nets back in early 70s between his stints with St John’s.

When I went to exhibition game that we played at ST John’s last year, Louie was at the game at 98 years old !

RIP.

I met Coach Caccesecca at a camp I was volunteering at. He picked me to demonstrate a drill he used at St. John’s. I didn’t miss a shot, he asked my coach about me. Needless to say my coach set him straight on my talent level.

RIP Coach

I was with Phil last year and saw Louie. At the end of the game his ride picked him up and he was only five feet from me. He was one great coach who loved coaching. He had some great teams. He will be missed.

When I first wanted to get into coaching as a senior at Rutgers I wrote to him asking for some advice. He responded back with a hand written full page letter. They don't make them like that anymore. I still have it. Super guy.
