RU Wrestling Recruits State Tourney Results

I didnt see it as a great match. However, I dont see how you would be more impressed by a large margin by foca who was doing nothing after the good counter. Seriouslly can someone explain why foca did anything really good in that match to where you would not consider them close
I wouldn't and I am pretty sure I didn't say I would.

I was saying the comment about too early, I dont see why any one would come away from that match thinking he should be written off, too early implies there is a reason to think he should be. I know you werent saying that. I was talking about the other poster. Why he would think agtet that match that he wasnt very promising.

And foca did less. Do you think foca would only be a depth guy here. If so why?
Foca scored more points, that's what he did. Some day you guys will learn. The guys that have little to no offense against the better opponents don't succeed in college. I've been right about everyone of these.

I dont know why your being a dick about. I am serious. No shit he scored more points. My point was what did he do, because I didnt see him with much offense. I didnt see much difference. I am saying neither one looked to have a ton of offense. So that is why I am asking your opinion of foca. He didnt seem to have much offense/

Anthony Ashnault won his 4th State title by a score of 3-1. Against Gary Dinmore who is now a backup at Rider.. You can't make generaltizations, too many exceptions w different styles

Sorry, I just didn’t see Foca with any big offense either. Although it was smart wrestling, I didn’t like his stalling for 30 secs. But, agree, he scored more points & won. Hopefully, Poz learned from it and is motivated for the title next year!

My goodness Fernandes. Too bad he didn’t want to rep NJ in NJ. Smh.

Great example LMAO. Ash was a 3x state champ prior to that. Poz 0. Sheesh

Not trying to take a position here, but Leonard is right that Ashnault was a bad example. I mean the kid didn't lose in HS... like ever. Pretty sure we knew he'd at least be decent lol! Plus he was a scorer who also was very good at preserving leads. The guy was recruited hard by Michigan and PSU.

Again, not taking sides but Leonard is right that being a good scorer and having an above average leg attack translates very well in college.

Even Suriano has been a ‘counter’ wrestler most of his career when facing top competition. It’s the opponent that often changes the strategy. Isaiah Martinez comes to mind as well.

I am not disputing that. I want the explanation on why that doesnt apply to foca as well. I didnt see much difference. I am not saying pozanski was great. I am saying what was good about foca?

Suriano another bad example. Kid always possessed an explosive shot. Having a good leg defense is great, but if it's all you have that is the issue. Both Ashnault and Suriano had the capability to attack when needed with both possessing above average leg offense.

I'm just making a general comment that kids who possess a lethal leg offense tend to have a higher probability of being successful. That's all.

That is for Leonard to defend as I'm just making a general observation.

Counter wrestler? He scored on his own shot and countered. There's a difference between that and solely a defensive counter wrestler.

What was good? He did more to win a state title. Poz has 0. Was he explosive? No, but he scored and held onto the lead while Poz never threatened. I never said Foca was impressive or would be an AA.

Agree. Did someone say that was not the case? I’m confused. Maybe watching too much at once.
