Why would you write him off at all?Poz will be a state champ next year and likely ranked well inside the top 10 nationally. He also competes in the top tournaments. Way too early to write him off as a depth guy.

I recall Kinnard losing in the finals last year , no one was saying that he was a depth guy. That seems pretty premature as he will probably be top 5 nationally next year and #1 in the state. Foca is damn good and was the only one to beat Poz this year.
I wouldn't and I am pretty sure I didn't say I would. Why would you write him off at all?

#10 on Intermat with 7 seniors ahead of him? $$$$
Wasn't really impressed with Foca either. Seemed more a counter wrestler. He didn't shoot once. Poznanski did all the shooting. As you know those guys don't translate well to college. Ala Grello.
Poz did nothing most of the match.Put down the crack pipe please...

Foca scored more points, that's what he did. Some day you guys will learn. The guys that have little to no offense against the better opponents don't succeed in college. I've been right about everyone of these. And foca did less. Do you think foca would only be a depth guy here. If so why?
I dont know why your being a dick about. I am serious. No shit he scored more points. My point was what did he do, because I didnt see him with much offense. I didnt see much difference. I am saying neither one looked to have a ton of offense. So that is why I am asking your opinion of foca. He didnt seem to have much offense/Foca scored more points, that's what he did. Some day you guys will learn. The guys that have little to no offense against the better opponents don't succeed in college. I've been right about everyone of these.

Great example LMAO. Ash was a 3x state champ prior to that. Poz 0. SheeshAnthony Ashnault won his 4th State title by a score of 3-1. Against Gary Dinmore who is now a backup at Rider.. You can't make generaltizations, too many exceptions w different styles

Not trying to take a position here, but Leonard is right that Ashnault was a bad example. I mean the kid didn't lose in HS... like ever. Pretty sure we knew he'd at least be decent lol! Plus he was a scorer who also was very good at preserving leads. The guy was recruited hard by Michigan and PSU.
I am not disputing that. I want the explanation on why that doesnt apply to foca as well. I didnt see much difference. I am not saying pozanski was great. Again, not taking sides but Leonard is right that being a good scorer and having an above average leg attack translates very well in college.
Even Suriano has been a ‘counter’ wrestler most of his career when facing top competition. It’s the opponent that often changes the strategy. Isaiah Martinez comes to mind as well.

Counter wrestler? He scored on his own shot and countered. There's a difference between that and solely a defensive counter wrestler.Even Suriano has been a ‘counter’ wrestler most of his career when facing top competition. What was good? He did more to win a state title. Poz has 0. Was he explosive? No, but he scored and held onto the lead while Poz never threatened. I never said Foca was impressive or would be an AA.I am not disputing that. I want the explanation on why that doesnt apply to foca as well. I didnt see much difference.
