Rutgers at U of Washington: UW Announces New Game-Day Policies For Clear Bags And ‘The Zone’

Late arriving fans? Never!!! Imagine if our fans could go out and tailgate at the half?

From the sounds of it, The Zone could perhaps be closed entirely if the new changes don’t hasten fans’ return to their seats.

“The Zone is something we are watching very, very closely,” UW athletic director Jennifer Cohen said. “Husky Stadium is one of the most exciting home-field environments in the Pac-12 and NCAA, and we need to be at full-strength for the second half, which means bringing fans back from The Zone and also from surrounding parking lots and boat moorage spaces. The contractors who run The Zone have assured me that they are instituting changes this year that will clear The Zone with ample time for fans to return to their seats by the start of the third quarter. The best-case scenario for all is that we are able to continue to provide a terrific fan experience in The Zone pregame, and we create a framework for fans to return by the third quarter. However, if we have not achieved that mark after this season, we will re-evaluate and have no hesitation to make any changes necessary moving forward.”

No Binocular cases ? What a crock of sh#t.
Just look inside it.

Fans head out to 'The Zone' at halftime, binge drink like there's no tomorrow and don't usually make it back to their seats until sometime around halfway through the 3rd qtr. seeing how there's big screen TV's located all over 'The Zone'.

'The Zone' ....

I think you have it backwards in your last sentence ...at least I hope that"s the way the Washington University sees the world.

LOL. Suite 6. You mean Tent 6. I've lived in many a tent, and know the difference.

Rutgers has a no binocular case rule as well.

PSU and Arkansas have a no bag at all rule.

Unless this no Binocular Case rule starts this season you are wrong.
I brought my Binocular case into every home game last year with no problem.

what the rules are and what gets enforced are 2 totally separate things. I see many, many people bringing large, oversized bags and pocketbooks into the stadium all the time and they are clearly prohibited. Rutgers has rules but they are not uniformly enforced.

At PSU I watched them turn away literally dozens of people with bags of any kind, including clutchlettes that were specifically allowed. I even watched them turn someone away with a 6 month old child because the kid didn't have a ticket
In Arkansas I was told I couldn't bring in the plastic bag with the shirt I had just purchased in their bookstore.
Michigan and Nebraska had bag rules as well that seemed to be enforced much better than RU enforces rules.
