Basketball Rutgers Basketball loses at the buzzer to No. 15 Michigan 84-82

We didn't even milk the clock in this game lol. There were a couple possessions where we kind of did, in the sense that we used the whole shot clock, but it was much more a "players dribbling around aimlessly, bad possession" kind of a thing not a "dribble down to 10 before initiating anything". With five minutes left it was already a 2 point game, we never had the chance to try that.

This pretty much sums it up. Sure the ref's were rough, but you don't win games shooting 25% in the second half, while ignoring the defensive end.
1/10 from three. SMH. Everyone is like “if this, but that, we’ve proven were a tourney caliber team” blah blah blah. Tourney caliber teams play a full 40 mins.

No one shoots over 50% from 3. It’s called mean reversion.

Pretty normal at this level for freshman. We get caught watching the ball ten times a game.
This wasn’t one of them. The D was setup that no easy drives to the hoop. You are not blocking a 3 pt from where it was made. You could commit a foul by trying like Mich did that put Acuff on the line.

What’s missing is before the TO, there was a travel and a double dribble call missed
No. What's missing is offense, defense and a B1G caliber roster. But sure, let's ignore the catastrophic issues and focus on the emotional nits that have little to do with why we are where we are

Assume you are talking about the season, not this game. So, yes. The missed calls mattered last night. We got some calls in the 1st half but the 2nd half was a complete joke.

Dylan's D assignment was not to leave their only shooter open. The look, while a shot we are happy they take, is much more difficult with even token defense, they got a perfectly clean look.

The guy was like 5 ft from half court. The shooter’s job is to draw you out for spacing. That’s why he was the last option per Mich coach. I can only imagine the criticism he would have received covering him and allowing a drive to the basket. If Acuff made all 3 and we are up by 2, then you extend the D.

I let out a big sigh -- when we were up 12, and Ogbole gave up that easy uncontested layup. Pike needed to call an immediate timeout. That was the beginning of the end. Michigan started believing, and Pike doubled down on it - letting the lead crater, before finally realizing "hey maybe i should call a timeout."

Ok, let's get back to reality a little. He wasn't close to 5 ft from half court, more like 5 behind the three pt line. I also think Dylan relaxed for one split second, other wise played it pretty well, hedging between both.

It also doesn't look to me like he's the last option, looks like he was the option. Wolf receives, takes one dribble and is moving the ball directly to Burnett in rythm. Didn't look like there was an ounce of thought in Wolf of taking a 2nd dribble. That didn't look on the fly, it looked preplanned.

Mich coach said in the post game that he was the last option. He is actually a good coach. They were down by one and scored at will inside. No way they draw up a desperate 3 as 1st.

Yeah if that was the play it would mean their coach was complete incompetent lol.

I would buy that giving the ball to Wolf that far from the basket was the last option. Getting the ball to where it ended up seemed the first option from that.
