He obviously can improve in the pros, and very likely will, but Harper is not a killer in close out/dagger situations. Sure, he made SHU, but he settles in close out possessions way too much.

Harper has blown numerous end of game situations. Seton Hall was a mirage
Fitting end. You die by the most disappointing player on this team.. Jwill chance to ice it and bricks 2 FTs. Jwill wide TF open for the win in OT. Brick.
On the bright side, this team can't cause us any more pain this season.

Studio guy summed it up. They went at Dylan late because he can’t play defense. He never got better. The entire season.

You need to get the right players the right shots and the right players need the ball in crucial situations That’s a coach’s job. Not being able to get the ball to anyone except Williams was brutal. They were guarding Williams so it’s not like his man was double teaming .
Other studio set it best. It’s a men’s game. Freshmen are not nearly as valuable no matter how talented.

USC has guys who can hit 3’s like Agbo, Yates, and Agee. It makes it easier for Claude to go downhill.

Desmond Claude picked up his 4th foul with :19 seconds left in regulation. USC was running their entire offense through him. He played ten full minutes with 4 fouls and we did not take the ball at him once. We did not use screens to force a switch onto Harper or Jeremiah to take it to the basket. We just let him hide off ball on defense. For ten full game minutes.
Harper very poor decision maker and not willing to sacrifice his body
Not a great college player..Just a good high volume scorer
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the shot distribution – – they just collectively did not make enough of them, including Harper going 1-8 from three point range with lots of good looks.
