Rutgers faculty, students call for shared governance

This old chestnut.

The problem isn't there is a deficit of representation. It is a lack of revenue and funding.

So unless the faculty wants to talk cutting pay and benefits, or massively increasing their workload to generate tuition, I don't see how this helps.

It's also a question how Rutgers' revenue should be allocated, e,g, a question of how much should be going to athletics. It's also a question of whether the administration bureaucracy has become too bloated. These are issues at many universities.

It's just students being silly and not understanding the facts. Factor in the revenue and donations that athletics generate, the impact on the overall budget is peanuts.
