Rutgers neurosurgeon stripped of top posts, much of $2.2M salary, amid ‘ghost surgery’ allegations

So the “what we’re they thinking?” doesn’t just pertain to hires by Athletics.

So the “what we’re they thinking?” doesn’t just pertain to hires by Athletics.
Another non-athletic example was the hiring of Richard McCormick, who was about to be fired at U. Washington for having an extramarital affair with a subordinate. Rutgers had every reason to know because he said "no" to Rutgers, and then suddenly changed his mind. No one at Rutgers seems to have asked why this was happening, but instead we swooned and hired him. He actually wasn't a bad president, but his hiring illustrated that Rutgers does not perform due diligence.

Hey.. I just saw this story in a feed from NJ.com. Apparently, LSU had to pay out $700, 000 because Nanda allegedly did the same thing there. See camden was all over that.

Time and again I really have to wonder how the experts we hire to do exec searches and seem to always screw up. Our legal advisors always settle for more than necessary.. fold rather than fight (and probably will pay Nanda here). And we teach marketing and advertising and seem to always hire outside help and they fail too.
