Rutgers vs Michigan State / Game Thread

Ehh. disagree.

The players aren't good. he's fine. after all, he has a ring.

I hope this is sarcasm. There is no sign of coaching. Zero evidence of preparation (coaching) and it is starting to look as though our team's effort is dropping way off.

Other folks on this board need to stop with the "Flood players" excuse. A good coach could get far more out of these kids.

Why am I even watching this? Glad we punted on fourth down by the way. Took them more time to score so the loss won't be as ugly, I guess?

Can't blame Cioffi on that one. Isn't our head coach a d backs coach? No evidence well coached.

Again, penalties is a huge sign of good coaching.

That TD is another great example of our lack of talent. Can't get pressure, LB's are slow to react, safety gets abused by the TE for the catch.

We have less than zero talent.

Cioffi's play has nothing to do with coaching. He is just not very good in coverage. That is why he is the strong safety and not the free safety. He has played poorly this year and at times has played soft and shyer away from playing physical.

Regardless of the level of talent he has to work with, Ash and staff are learning on the job - there is no single reason for losing like this - it is a combination of many different facets of subpar performance, no different than having a winning combination that requires a total package of coaching and talent. It is what we have to accept for the next 2 to 3 years

Love the dive into the line! Love the lateral! So well designed! So well coached! Can we send OC back to Houston?

If you think these continual humiliating outcomes are the result of lack of talent alone, you are deluding yourselves. The mark of a good coach is to put a respectable product on the field with whatever you have to work with. I'm not saying you need to win, especially right away, just give the fan base and incoming recruits a reason to be hopeful. Sorry, but I haven't seen that even for one moment this season.

Agreed that we have a huge lack of big ten talent.
But to be virtually out of games this year after 1 qtr is beyond words
Did new Hampshire have better talent when they made us look pathetic? Or was it coaching?
Hope he can recruit

Time to rake leaves

This fan base doesnt have patience for 3 years. Must get 6 wins by year 3 or Ash gone. This is not the 2000s with Greg and watching the process.

The recruiting problem is well, a problem. What happens now is that the verbals we have start looking around. The better players, the ones who can get other comparable or better offers, will leave. After that our recruiting class is left with only the players who didn't have any better schools. In essence we become a self full-filling prophecy, where our recruiting class is filled with the kids who were a stretch to play at this level anyway.
