My impression was that he did not look particularly excited to be there. Don't think anyone asked him about not getting any head coaching gigs. Just did not look like his energetic, big self to me.

That's the look of a man who is where he is because right behind him is a woman saying, "Dude, you have GOT to get a friggin' job."
Hot tea. It was hot tea I just snorted out through my nose. Between you and @ruhudsonfan, I may never smell anything again.

Hm... now that I think about it, a near total lack of smell has it's advantages.

Please let me know when he takes his next dump (that is, literally, how much I care about his presser...).

You Re all haters he is a class act that gave all he had to change or program. It's actually the reason we are all on this site talking Rutgers football . You guys give nj a bad rep. Ugh. Grow up and move on.

Your autocorrect software is misbehaving again.

Is it not possible for people to not give a crap about Schiano and not hate him? I mean, I stopped caring about him when he stopped being the RU coach. Does that make me a hater?

If I didn't just spit hot tea out my nose a little earlier, I'd see if maybe I smell like a hater. I dropped my razor a couple days ago, so I confess I might look a little like a hater. But I'm not gonna lie; I don't feel like a hater.

I thought he handled it as well as could be expected. Showed great deference to his HC. Certainly a large slice of humble pie was served.

Class act? Maybe but the way he left us and the time it Happened was far from a class act
He had to chose, he chose to go because if he asked for time, Tampa's owner was going to take his next choice.
For Schiano It was business and there were some RU FB fans glad he left because they felt he couldn't bring RU to the next level. It was time for him to leave and for Rutgers to find a HC that
might be able to improve on what Greg built.
You can say his leaving when he did was good for the recruits, because they weren't stuck with their choice because Greg stayed till they signed their LOIs and then left..

But defenders are going to defend , while haters are going to find things to hate about.
So this issue will never be settled until this board stops posting Schiano's every move.

Get the f*ck out of here with this nonsense. I was a huge Greg fan, and thank him for everything he did, but I couldn't give 2 flying shits about his OSU presser, that's all!

stop... there is never a good time to leave when you are the fan of a team....unless ur the ones running the coach out of town. Lets freaking be honest as grown men.

I'm sure they're close to food stamps after the millions he's earned already.

You're kidding yourself if you think you wouldn't leave Rutgers for an NFL job. It's one of 32 jobs and you think he should have turned down that opportunity because of timing? Give me a break

Watching that press conference was just like seeing a video of my high school girlfriend on Facebook. Yes, the names the same & the face looks familiar, but that's not the same guy who I believed in from 2000-2011. I wish Schiano the best of luck, but I've moved on, and like the fat chick who now occupies the body of the hot chick I dated in high school who posts about going to the gym every now and then, I secretly hope he fails.

In my book he is now the enemy so it makes care what he does even less

Hah good call. I actually wanted him to go to Michigan when Carr retired, but he sure made the wrong decision eh? I trust he has learned, and will stay a college coach this time. Some guys just aren't suited for the NFL, but they can still be a good college coach.

If our new DC has been chosen, we still don't know on the pay boards. Mattison is DC for bowl, but I think he is more suited to the line than the whole thing. I know the feeling of the waiting sucks. We have done a lot of it since the Rich Rod era.

If I had to move from Tampa, Fl to central OH in the middle of winter I wouldn't be all that excited either.

One would hope several million dollars gets you a little leeway

one would hope but its all relative.

If I had to move from Tampa, Fl to central OH in the middle of winter I wouldn't be all that excited either.

This ^^ could trump the wife wanting the husband to get a paycheck scenario. You are uprooting your family and all that goes with it, pulling kids from schools and friends, in a warm, sunny, beachfrontTampa to go to gray, cold, Ohio, where the closest ocean is 600 miles away.

We think alike. I was just going to type this as well. We all thank Greg for all he did. However for the OP to say Greg was energetic in his RU press conferences is misleading. I always found him to be lacking and wanted him to be a great speaker. He never motivated me like Ash.

Please, stop, I "represent" Jersey pretty damn well when I want and need to do so. Here, lol, simply is NOT one of those times. Bottom line: Who CARES what Greg said, didn't say, looked like, or anything else, at his OSU presser? I mean seriously people need to move on and, again, I was a HUGE fan of his (everyone here knows this...or so I thought...lol).
