Season Ticket Renewals, Redux

Don't see any reason to change- renewing all four. Yeah, Ash is a dud and generates zero excitement, but we support the team and the program. To some here, that makes fans like us idiots or that we are doing something wrong by not sending RU Athletics a message. To each his own- respect the opinions and decisions of others, and if that is what they choose to do, perhaps they may reconsider the social aspects of attending tailgates and the games. We have a great time with the people who sit near us in 107, regardless of the on field performance. Hope there are more high fives and fewer jokes about the offense in 2019.
Looking forward to what Pacheco, Blackshear, Adams, and Aaron Young can do (if they all get playing time). Of course the elephant(s) in the room are the OL and QB play. Offense needs to take a major step forward.

One ticket down from 3 moves to upper tier and ditching scarlet lot as well. When we get serious about football again I will be back sitting in the club seats if I can get in them.
From supposedly the most loyal fans, these numbers should scare Hobbs.
Changing my answer from partial to none. Having had more time to mull it over, I realized I will be perfectly happy going to one or two games of my choosing each season and watching the rest on TV.
I'm not on your original list, but I renewed both of mine. In my view, when times are tough, the team needs our support more than ever.

The intent, here, is to get the most accurate readout possible from this group and then send the results up to Sarah, providing some additional perspective on where we are with season ticket purchases.
I renewed both tickets instead of the 1 I said I would renew.
You never indicated an exact number of tickets held, so you defaulted to 2. Is that accurate?
I renewed all 3 of mine, also parking and seatbacks.
I will renew my seats (upper deck/40 yd/west). Still haven't been contacted by "my" ticket rep re: my renewal, which is perplexing.
My group has 6 tickets (3 guys, 2 seats each). I’ve had my tickets since 2004; my 2 friends jumped in for 2009-on. One is an alum and the other graduated from Kean; all love Rutgers sports. My one friend’s (non board member) exact quotes from our renewal discussion: “It’s too much money to piss away when I’m wholly unsatisfied with direction of team...You can be competitive and bad. We aren’t competitive...They should never ever ever get ripped by those teams (Kansas, Buffalo)...3 or 5 completions per game for a non option team is awful. You can run effing bubble screens etc...So I’m letting them know with my $$$”
...I may renew 1 seat and move it to the cheapest location possible just to keep points but that might be the extent of it...and I have not been contacted by the ticket office that I’m aware of yet. I may be better off just making a donation to Rutgers athletics and/ or the School of Social Work.

I'm not on the list but renewed all 11 tickets and both parking passes. Have had seasons' since 1968. Have been to about 90% of RU home games since 1950. Can't stop now!
This is the major point that’s getting lost in the ‘I’m a REAL fan’ vs. ‘you’re STOOPID for renewing’ debate.

I thought I initially responded, but I guess not. 8 tickets being reduced to 6. Keeping parking. To us, gameday is about family, friends, tailgating and football. The on field product is important, but family/friends/fun supersede the team's results last year by the "n"th degree. Go RU...in all sports. Hope to see y'all in a couple hours as wrestling team takes on Michigan and we give tribute to the seniors and their last match at the RAC.
I have rarely been contacted or contacted very late in the renewal period. I don't care either way, as I take care of my renewal online.
A pair. Co-located with a pair of seats of a former RU roomy, who is also renewing.
Nobody is NOT a real fan (we all are), and nobody is stupid--just doing things in different ways. It never has to turn into name calling, even if it is to justify your position to not renew by saying "people who renew are stupid" or those renewing saying "people who don't renew are not real fans."
My only point of debate is the "sending them a message with $$$". Maybe it will work, but ultimately, not sure if that accomplishes the end desired. The more money in for tickets will hopefully help the prospects that there will be more money for a buyout and/or used for calculations of how much RU will spend for a new coach.

Still partial but better than expected dropping down to 4 instead of 2. My buddy and his wife are in. He figured they can't keep Ash after this year anyway so what's one year. Or could they? So we're down 4.

You have one major flawed assumption with doing a sampling like this….… That the people who come to this board and post are the most loyal. The nature of message boards bring out a much higher percentage of people who want to complain, bitch and moan about the state of a team they follow….. even when times are good ! They are not necessarily the most loyal especially when it comes to monetary support. Any result taken from a sampling like this would really have to be taken with a large grain of salt. One would strongly argue that this is NOT a good representation of the ticket purchasing fanbase. My first hand knowledge of people who do not come on these boards, agrees with that. Of the maybe 20 to 30 people I know who are members of season ticket holder groups, there is only one group who is dropping just one ticket and that is because of a health situation. The rest are staying as they are. Need to pass that along to Sarah… but I’m sure RU is well aware of the nature of message boards, and how people exaggerate or flat-out lie about a something like this.
If they don't have enough ticket renewals Hobbs and Barchi will send the fans a message by bringing back Ash because they will say they did not make enough $$ on tickets. :chairshot::weary:

As a case in point. Remember one the eve of the USF game in 2013 (Kyle Flood Bobblehead night of all things), the rumors on this board were very strong that Flood would be fired after the game. I remember talking to season ticket holders who sat near us, and they could not understand why Flood would be fired, and they felt bad for him. Message boards do bring out the most passionate and crazy fans, good and bad.
If the season goes south as I unfortunately think it will quickly when UMASS beats us I will be done. That is why I chose to not get parking this upcoming year. An empty stadium will make Hobbs look very foolish especially when the football team is getting pounded. An empty stadium IMO will not allow Hobbs and Barch to not notice and more than anything else will force a move and hopefully a real move by spending what it takes to get an established coach.
...the actual season ticket sales number will tell the story with no BS or spin either way.
