It let's the coaches work sh*t out without being over analyzed by the fan base, which is hard to do against just your own guys in practice

Also gives your comp one less scouting option.

Coaches are notoriously tight. This shouldn’t be a surprise. Plus who knows what the format was. Could have been very unlike typical game conditions.

It would have been nice to at least hear if a player or two stood out in the scrimmage. From a box score last year to absolute silence is a bummer.

Well, last year we got the box score from the Yale scrimmage which hasn't happened yet. And then the SJU game was a charity event, but that was not a normal thing for preseason
