Senior Nationals - Dec 20-22

Does officially qualifying for the Olympic trials increase or decrease the likelihood of him returning to Rutgers this season?

57 kg | BOOM! Nick Suriano has secured a spot at the 2020 Olympic Trials after advancing to the bronze medal match via injury default over Nahshon Garrett (Titan Mercury)!

Nick will wrestle Vito . Arujau for 3rd.

Decrease, I would think all of the focus would go onto making the Olympic team at this point.

1) Fix
2) Gilman
3) Lee
4) NATO
5) Vitali
6) Suriano

Depending on how NATO vs Lee ends up, I have suriano as the 6th sed for olympics trial

Don't forget Seth Gross who won the Bill Farrell with wins over Suriano and NATO..That will bump Suriano to the 7th seed

Knew i was forgetting someone.
If Lee wins, i think he will get seeded above Gross.
Very deep, Suriano could go as low as #7.
Gross could be a 4 seed

I don't see anyway Suriano will be higher then #7 seed unless he has some wins over guys in front of him now..Those guys won't enter last 2 qualifiers so it's pretty clear no higher then #7

The officials opinion had nothing to do with loss..The rules state the last person that scores has criteria...Vito scored a 2 last and won on the rule.
got it.....thanks.....still not liking free style...........fight to the finish
is fair....the match can last all night.....hey nicky...how did ya lose your Olympic qualifying match you trained your whole life for?.....criteria......what!,,,,yeah the kid scored last to tie the match......their has to be a better alternative.......this is why free style isn't very popular in this country.....I know, I know the world wrestles that style......also the 10-0 tech by whatever you call that rolling over, and over, and over till you win.....hey that was a 10sec tech fall.....some really dumb rules, and regulations....just my folk style lovin opinion.........

Holy ellipsis Batman!

Colon is not a qualifier right now and if he does Qualify he'll be behind Suriano..The top 6 can change so its hard to predict who Suriano will wrestle in a QTR. or Semi in State College..but he will obviously be a long shot at making the 2020 Olympic Team..I also felt the same way about Molinaro in 2016 at this stage and he shocked everyone and made The Olympic Team.

Colon is qualified since he was the 2018 World team rep for 61kg. He didn't win the spot but since Nahshon was injured and didn't go Colon went which makes him qualified.

Just watched the replay of McKenna vs Yianni. Legitimately one of the best freestyle matches I’ve ever seen.
