Should be a fun one to watch. Two teams we'll be playing in the near future. Nebraska is a serious dark horse candidate to win the big ten and I think they'll blow SHU's doors off.

Eastern Michigan at Sagarin’s current #4 team, Duke tonight, as well as Seton Hall at Sagarin’s current #1 team, Nebraska. A chance to watch three future opponents tonight.

Man, it’s unfair that duke is even allowed to play mid/low majors this year with that type of talent

SHU looks decent. Nebraska still has a cheap on shoulder from last year when PSU and them were hosed.

No second option for Hall.

Rutgers will beat them by at least 5.
Agreed, really no second option. This white kid with the crazy last name on shu is a pretty good blue collar player. Id say eugene on him, myles on nzei?

That foul on the floor was horrific.

‘William Shakespeare type English’ - line of the year

I watched shu vs wagner and now vs nebraska. The transfer thompson reminds me a lot of Ducuore

Lots of new faces on SHU. I don’t know most of their players.

He is impressing on the boards tonight. Offensively, he gives little. Decent defender, having a good game on the boards, but will not help them out offensively. As Rutgers fans, we know how the program has lacked offensive, and never took a leap out of the basement. Now, we have offensive firepower. SHU will struggle there. I believe they will replace Quincy McKnight with Nelson at some point throughout the year.

I am sadly not high on Cale. Nzei gives his all, but it is not enough to help his team win games. Powell is the player, but cannot win by himself.

I don't expect a huge rebound throughout the year from Thompson either. I think it will be very much up and down, with a lot more downs. Sorry to say it, but just what I see.Body language is huge, and his is poor and describes an about me player.

Still, a fun young team that is giving a lot of energy out there.

Hopefully we keep Powell reasonably in check and take them down for a beloved second year in a row.

Agreed about thompson’s body language, piss poor. Gill looks like a big body who really doesnt know how to use it yet. Mcknight seems to have a good burst but his finish ability or inability hasnt impressed me. Really a pretty one dimensional team with powell and you can tell hes not in phenomenal shape, at least not good enough shape to carry a team for 40 minutes. Seton hall will struggle in 2nd halfs all year imo

Also Palmer is a problem, really good. I think Issa’s gonna get that assignment vs nebraska

For sure. And he was looked to be relied upon this year. I don't think he will take well to a benching for a better Mamu either. Gill has two years?

I did notice that about Powell. He seemed to put back on a couple.

Still, Powell is jersey bred, and is a tough kid who has overcome a lot of unfortunate circumstances. I look to see him do well.

Hardest thing to find in CBB is guys who can put the ball in the basket. Seton Hall was loaded in the area with three 1000 point scorers just graduating (Carrington, Delgado, Rodriguez) plus Whitehead there for the start of it all. He would have been four. Only Powell on this years squad appears on that level.

Hopefully we keep Powell reasonably in check and take them down for a beloved second year in a row.

Oddly enough, SHU and RU have revered stances this year. SHU will rely a lot more on their defense to win games. Rutgers will rely a lot more on offense. Last year that was flipped.

I believe RU steps up their defense as the year goes on. Still figuring out some rotations, and when Mathis, RHJ, and Johnson come in, those are a lot of kids still figuring it out. I have been impressed with some of RJH defense in the post.

RHJ is better in the post than vs guards on D. Hes pretty thick and although he himself is sneaky quick off the dribble on O, hes not great moving laterally yet on D. That will come when he grows into his body and leans out a little.

Also i was thinkin that too in regards to SHU and RU. SHU is gonna have to ugly up the game to beat RU this year

Not sure I get this comparison. Did not see much of the Wagner game but tonight Thompson looked like a head case. I don't think of Doucore that way.

I think of duke as more of an out on control player. Not a head cade but very sloppy play

Seton Hall had three assists in the game. Powell took 21 of the 57 shots, had none of the assists.

I look at it this way.. St John's has 2 players better than Powell. If we can beat SJU on Friday, we SHOULD beat the Hall. Home court advantage sure does funny things though.

Does the pebble really provide a home court advantage? Especially when RU fans will most likely make up at least 1/3 of the crowd?

Saw bits and pieces of the Nebby Shoe game. Beautiful arena and a nice crowd. Both teams looked so-so. Nebraska looked undisciplined at times, perhaps that is just their "style"? SHU was not shooting well; they look a work in progress with lots of new faces. Powell when he is shooting better is a handful, Nzei chases boards and loose balls with the best of them and you can see some potential in Mamuk. However, I am not sure they are a good team and look like middle of the pack in Big East at best.

However, the biggest take away from that game as how bad those refs were. The two obvious calls but the overall game was called poorly. I hope those clowns are Big East refs and we don't have to endure them.
