Signs pointing to Haskins decommit from UMD

Terps offered two QBs today, twitter is buzzing that the decommit is immanent. Looks like us missing on him helped us hopefully land Russo, rather than losing Haskins at the last minute. Flip side is OSU just got stronger.

Wouldn't be surprised but if I was a stud QB prospect, the last place I would go is LSU. Les Miles has such an awful track of developing QBs (along with most SEC coaches). I would look at some PAC 12, Big 12 and B1G schools.

Per Twitter, Devon Modster, a 4 star pro style, who 247 has as 100% to UCLA. A California kid.
Other offer is to Tyrell Pigrome, a 3 star dual threat from Alabama, with a connection to MD and a visit scheduled.

He was this rah rah Rutgers recruit from before he committed until some point fairly recently from which time he removed all mention of records from his Twitter and has not mentioned anything about Rutgers. I know I know reading too much into Twitter etc, but this is exactly what people who are about to decommit do. Pretty much every time. I hope he stays, but I do not consider him likely signee.

If you read the On the Banks article, he confirmed the two Mehringer tweets were about Russo. Don't think he would write that unless he was a jagaloon.

You only have 3-4 years to leave a mark and set yourself up for the future. Why go to Maryland and play behind a likely lackluster offensive line and losing team when you can play for championships at OSU or LSU?

All part of the deal if you want to compete in big time football. No one likes how the sausage is made, but they'll scarf it down when it lands on the table every Saturday.

If Durkin, Ash, Harbaugh, Dantonio, etc. aren't all making calls to every prospect on their board, committed or not, they're not doing their job.

Finally, if there's one thing Urban is known for, it's taking a player and tying up a scholarship just to screw over a 3-9 team he's beaten by an average of 25 points per game.[eyeroll]

I assume OSU will have a highly ranked QB, not necessarily the case with MD. It could have an impact on the rest of the Maryland class. Nothing we can do about it, but it is worth following.

"Lackluster" may not be an accurate word when describing Maryland's offensive line:

Let's see how they develop the potential.
I wonder how an Ohio State Line would look like giving the Recruiting analysis.
I would think Haskins would like to play behind that line potential.
Is it easier to block for pro or spread offenses?
Is Maryland playing a pro style offense or spread type?
I think the key for Rutgers/Maryland will be recruiting players who can play their offense style.

I never followed Maryland football until RU joined the B10.
It will be interesting to compare the schools as the years go by in the conference.
