- SRO Crowd

- Approx 1,000 students if not more at the game.

- Students and Crowd were as boisterous as could be

- PA Announcer kept reminding crowd about Sunday's game at RU

- PA made an announcement for students to get bus tickets for game at RU as bus seats are limited.

Atmosphere was terrific with the entire student body displaying support for a squad that has earned it big time.

I almost forgot how fun a student body and crowd could have at a College BB game.

And Monmouth won by about 20 or so.....though spread throughout game was much closer.......

And Monmouth plays as a team.....very well coached....and you can tell how this squad all gets along so well.....

Rutgers is a joke. And no one at the school cares about the program.

Decades of neglect and bad hires

they will bring busloads of students and will fill up our student section. I am expect 1500 RU fans and 2500 Monmouth fans at the game...so incredibly sad and embarrassing. Barchi and Hobbs should be there to witness the travesty of the atmosphere

You know Hobbs will be there. This game will not be a bad thing at all. Will show how unacceptable the current status is.

Syracuse taking over the RAC is one thing, but MONMOUTH?
I hope everybody gets mad. I hope it is a big statewide story. I hope Hobbs has to answer questions about it.

Hobbs owns this program now. The past is the past. The fact that the program is such a disaster needs to be addressed. We need a practice facility. And we need a fresh start at the top

I grew up less that 5 miles from MU (Monmouth college then)...most people in that area, I'm willing to bet, had no idea they even had a bb program...

I remember all the above during the Waters years

I love Eddie,,,,,,but he is NOT the answer......he is just coasting....

I hope they come in full force. I am all for anything that compels the administration to realize this is not working. I don't see a competitive game and that alone should setting off alarm bells but having Monmouth take over the RAC will make it even more uncomfortable. I hate feeling this way but the long term prognosis could not be clearer to me.

It is very comparable to those who wanted Flood to lose to South Florida and Maryland.

We KNOW how this will end. Just remove all doubt so the decison makers have no choice.
(Sadly)

The Monmouth game is very important. They will have more fans in the building than us. If they win going away and take over the building it could be the straw that breaks the camels back.

It is still the middle of December and there is almost a full 3 months left. This is getting real bad.

I don't want to sound too negative, but I can't help thinking......
1. Can Nigel Johnson transfer to another school and play next year?
2. If Freeman doesn't play again he can play at a different school in January 2017

Getting blown out in your own gym to Monmouth in front of Monmouth fans who take the building over would be tough to take as a player and fan.

Sunday's game is crucial. A close loss is one thing....a 20 point beating in front of a Monmouth crowd at the RAC with the Monmouth bench dancing is another.

I have 4 tickets I received from the CC for the Monmouth game. I can't give these away. I'd have to pay peeps to take them. I'm boiling right now thinking how a takeover is going to happen. I can't stand sitting there while Monmouth is up 20 in the first half with their fans going wild.

Apparently at Monmouth's game yesterday vs. Wagner the announcer kept reminding students to sign up for the busses to RU. I'm thinking they might bring 1,000 students plus how many non students attend. We better be ready.

the one thing working in RUs favor here is that this is Monmouths Super Bowl..yes I know beating UCLA is significant but to become the top dog in NJ and doing it by outnumbering Rutgers fans on their home floor is huge. They are pumped and their fans are pumped but perhaps a little too much. I expect a RU double digit loss but I would not be surprised if RU won this game either.

Do you see our players matching the intensity?
Seton Hall was a big game too.

Sell your tix to monmouth fans, they'll take them.

Tri-State area basketball isn't what it use to be. With the breakup of the Big East, it seems that the interest level is very low. Also it seems like the talent level in NJ high schools is way down, or am I just not paying attention anymore.

Hey Rock,
I sent you a message if you're looking to unload those tickets. Thanks very much!

While I have no idea how the overall landscape of NJ high school hoops is doing, I feel like it can't be that bad with guys like Irving, Kidd-Gilchrist, Towns, and Briscoe coming through the ranks.

In past years the Monmouth arena was far from a pit. They had an unprecedented OOC so far and the place is happy. This is not their norm. And I think you guys will beat them.

I was at the Monmouth game last year and it took a last second shot by Mack to win the game.Rutgers had more scoring options last season and Monmouth clearly is far better this season. This game has all the makings of embarrassment on and off the court.Losing to mid level NJ teams has been a sad reminder that Rutgers mens basketball has no relevance anywhere.

I don't think Monmouth brings busloads of fans....I think there'll be a noticeable amount ...but not to the extent they take over the RAC.....their following is not that huge and furthermore school is in between sessions which should lessen the student turnout...though I'm sure most MU students live in NJ....

Expecting Sunday to be "watershed moment". We could get blown away by that team

Jerry Carino just posted per his twitter that it's possible that 4,000 Monmouth fans attend the RAC.......

Our 1st sellout of the year?
Uh, no.
That would require us to bring 4000 of our own fans to a HOME game.

4000? I woudnt go that far but they should bring at least 2K and 3K tops....RU is only going to have about 1500 of its own fans in the building and no students. Will they be giving the Monmouth students tickets in our student section?

The concern to me would be if the RU students started rooting for Monmouth . :):)

This guy Seton75 must be crazy to make that prediction! MU looked pretty darned good last night. They beat GU all game long and were clearly the better team last night.
