Sunday second round NCAA Tournament Games thread

Fast break two on one lob that failed cost them the game. Went for highlight reel play instead of winning play.
Given the angle I don’t think a bounce pass would have worked. Maybe the passer should have drove all the way to the basket, but at this level that play wasn’t out of the ordinary. Guys just have to execute.

Didn’t think Zion fouled on his last basket, but Barrett clearly pushed the back of the UCF rebounder.

The missed alley oop was a 5 point swing, that gave Duke the window they needed to win.

How that shot by Dawkins didn't go in is beyond me. As to the prior non-calls against Duke here is why I saw: 1) Zion plowed over the UCF player and that should have been a charge right there with the UCF player getting FT's. That would have eliminated Tacko Hall from fouling out. 1) When Zion scored and got the and 1 and missed it, Barrett pushed the UCF player forward and jumped up and got the rebound and put it back in. Again, a foul on Barrett for pushing off and again UCF should have had FT's the other way. Once again, when it was time to call the game fairly these officials swallowed their whistles.

Wooten from Oregon is a Jersey kid apparently. Wish we had him. His good.

Oregon in sweet sixteen, lousy Pac 12 did much better than Big East.

The Sweet 16 teams are mostly top seeds with the ACC,B1G and SEC dominating. There will be great match ups and it will be interesting to see if any of the leagues cited above get two teams into the Final Four.

Oregon has an excellent coach and they figured out how to play without their most talented player (Bol Bol) who was injured earlier in the year. They have the longest current winning streak of teams remaining at 12 or 13 straight.

In general after watching the first 7 games of the tourney go to the wire, the tourney sort of disappointed for me. Certainly the Duke/UCF game was an exception along with MD/LSU but too many blowouts to really get into it like other years, I found myself walking away from the tv and doing other things
