Does Pikiell keep that Senior Advisor position or roll that money over to attract the very best Assistant Coaches at a competitive salaries ?

Why do we care if he stays? Other than being compassionate and not wanting anyone to lose their job.

Did he do an extraordinary job?
Yes...yes he did.

I will find it difficult to continue with my current involvements if he is not retained.

He's that important... It's not just about a job.

No Brad, No BK is like no Shoes, no Corey, round two! Queue Michael Jackson popcorn gif! Anyway, not seeing BK on tv at games both home and away would be so bizarre. Do the right thing Coach! Retain Brad and retain our biggest fan, no-brainer move!

Not a threat by any means...but Brad Wachtel is more RU than ANYONE I know. I'm getting too old to keep chasing this program around anyway...

He provides a bridge to those who have been passionate about the program in the past, and cares about it enough to give everything he's got to Pikiell now.

Brad is THE man...that cannot be disputed to this fan right here!

Woah BK you sound like you're almost considering throwing in the towel on the program. Never thought I'd see the day

Not sure where you are getting that...

Coach Pikiell has this program in great hands now...I will fully support him in everything he does.

The fact of the matter is simply this....it is a difficult process to build trust with a new coaching staff...this will be my 5th one in the past 15 years.

I don't walk into a room and expect anything from people who've never met me. I like to think I've earned the level of trust I've received from all of those coaching staffs and administrators by staying true to the cause without fail or exception, but that only comes with time and effort.

Honestly, with the last of the Rice staff probably gone...it's ground zero for me. That's not to say that we couldn't do it again, because Coach Pikiell has been very open to the Court Club message early on, and to me personally as well. I don't ever really talk about the road game stuff any more because it's a very personal thing...but it is hard enough to do and be comfortable with it when you know everyone...let alone with a staff that doesn't know you from Adam.

Time to rebuild, or just be "normal" again. Not sure what I have the energy for just yet.

Major pieces in place - clarity on details?
- is Van Dyke the hands-on guy for basketball? - or since he is over all sports except football, will he have a basketball specific person?

Believe rickard will be ops, dougher will be video and Asher will either be player personnel (which is a spot rice had for Murdock and then Eddie had with the monte shubik hire)

I believe Van Dyke is all sports ex football.
Yes - but I'm curious about how that is expected to work -
He will will oversee conditioning for 23 Rutgers sports (all except Football) ... So, guess that there will be a designated 'basketball specialist" since it would seem to be next to impossible to be focused full time on Strength and Conditioning Coach for Rutgers Men's Basketball and also serving the needs of those 23 other sports

He's the AD for strength and conditioning but he will primarily focus on basketball while overseeing the other sports. There are numerous strength coaches working under him that have their sports.

It just occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, BK and the RU hoops screw are tied at the hip. Can it really be a coincidence that things seem to be taking a turn for the better in conjunction with his enthusiasm starting to wane?

On a more sincere note, you can't throw in the towel now, BK. You just can't. Not now when there's so much reason for optimism about the future. You and your wife are an inspiration to long suffering RU fans. I'm looking forward to beating witness to your elation when this ship gets sailing, and for the first time in a long time I actually feel confident that it will. Give it a few more years, with one more staff. You're going to one day have RU BB stuff dedicated in your name by people you've never met who marvel at your steadfast dedication through the dark days.

Van Dyke is one of Pikiell's guys. I don't have any direct knowledge, but I guarantee that he will be very involved with the basketball team and will work directly with the players. Expect him to be on the bench for games going nuts down by the trainer.
