From the Hartford Courant author Jacbos, prints this "pie in the sky statement"
"Fairfield County (part of the New York market)," ??? WHAT how does 75 miles north of Fairfield county equate to UCON'T in Storrs
Yo dude even you know that they are closer to Boston (85 miles about the same distance to edge of Fairfax county then NYC(150miles)
these articles for years have tried to beat the dogs' drum to be a viable option to a P5 conference but to no avail the B12 and ucan't fit together like.............well they just don't
Umass, BU (dropped FB a few years back), UConn, Villanova, Army and Navy and for class add MIT and a few others would make a good compliment to the MAC in the mid west. If they were smart they should start a North East Sports Conference NESC

Um. Purdue is not on their schedule until 2020. Didn't play last year either. It looks to me as if they are basically trying to rotate through a few Big Ten teams as I think they have a home-and-home scheduled with MSU, Purdue, and Ohio State on future schedules and may play Northwestern soon as well.

They're pretty much dumping Big 10 games. Northwestern is scheduled to play them at Ryan in 2018. Some Cat fans are speculating they'll try to cancel the game unless we switch it to Soldier Field or some larger venue. We shall see.

It's not possible to predict what the big ten,or even college football will look like in ten years. Major changes are coming that will probably do away with the current power 5 configuration. There will most likely be model that resembles the nfl....4divisions that could accommodate anywhere from 40 to 64 teams. All of these schools will be legitimate power football schools and revenues will be shared. Those not included will belong to a lesser grouping with their own playoff and champion. The major schools will not be governed be the ncaa and will abide by their own rules. The important thing for ru at this time is to continue and improve as fast as possible so as to be deemed worthy of a spot in the major grouping when that time comes.

If it's strictly about eyeballs and $$$ then Texas and Notre Dame have to be the end game for the Big Ten. AAU affiliation won't matter, contiguous states won't matter, rivalries won't matter.

On a side note, the B10 will gladly take Oklahoma if that's what it takes to get Texas.
