I find it hilarious how much people get worked up about awards and lists on the internet/social media.

Not really talking about this thread because op wasn't angry or anything and Carli did indeed have a noteworthy performance.

But its just funny to see everyone on twitter crying about the Jenner award. Its ESPN, who cares. It ain't a Nobel peace prize. ESPN does stuff for publicity and ratings.

Agree, the opening monologue was in such poor taste for a ceremony that was intended to honor achievement and courage, the finger on the seat was truly disgusting, amputation is not funny in any way and a little sensitivity to all those who have suffered the loss of limbs that could have been in the viewing audience would have been much more appropriate. The first Espy award clearly went to ESPN for a total lack of class and sensitivity.

ESPN is a shell of what it once was. Today, it's a complete joke. Even college gameday, which I used to watch religiously, is now a 2+ hour plug for the SEC. Absolutely unwatchable.

Couldn't agree more. That young lady basketball player had courage in every sense of the word yet was shuffled aside to make room for Jenner.

This was a complete joke and did not watch. E$PN took a new low in my opinion. The whole jenner thing was so abc could do the interview which I also did not watch. Disney is making a great name for itself. For them and President douchebag to portray him as some sort of courageous human being is a travesty when there are others so deserving. ESPN has been awful for 10-15 years.
