By my estimation Marshall, Cronin, and Webber, are out of reach or wouldn't be interested. Mack and Miller might be in that category too, but I left them in.

You think Chris Mack might be out of reach - yea, think so

Why would any of the following leave their respective schools/jobs for RU?

  • Lavin - guy took over at a dying SJU program (and failed). He's not about to do the same with an even tougher job at Rutgers; he's probably making decent coin as a commentator. If he wants to get back into coaching, it'll be for a better situation.
  • Chris Mack - he's coaching a top 5 team (with the majority of the players returning) and making ~$1.5m with incentives in a conference focused on basketball. Like Lavin, he would only leave for a high profile job at a team in a much better situation. Rutgers would like pay more but it's a downgrade.
  • Herb Sendek - Is he on the hot seat? He makes $2m at ASU and the only way RU could grab him is he he gets canned by ASU.

Sendek is no longer coaching at Arizona State.

I'm a SHU basketball fan (undergrad alum) and a RU football fan (RU Law grad). So I don't read the board and haven't really followed much basketball outside of the BE. What I said still holds true (in my opinion) besides the Sendek comment :)
