The greatest Woj Bomb in the history of Woj Bombs.

Woj’s tweet - breaking the story before Dylan could announce his choice - pissed the Harpers off.

Someone had to tell Woj.
He didn't just make it up.

Tweet says Dylan told ESPN/Woj.
Did they not expect him to tweet it?
That's literally Woj’s entire job.

If true, kind of like telling him there's no Santa Clause. It was his moment.

They didn’t expect him to tweet it when he did.

It was a real doosh move.

Woj's job is literally to break news before anyone else.
The only reason to tell Woj in advance is to give him the scoop.
Why did Dylan tell him then?

Unless Dylan (I'm assuming Dylan told him directly since the tweet says so) told him not to tweet it, a reasonable expectation is that Woj will break the news.

I doubt Woj would go against a "don't tweet this" request. He's been doing this for years and would ruin his reputation and contacts if he was going off and tweeting news that he wasn't supposed to.

Exactly right.

If he thought for even one second that Dylan gave him a scoop that he could break before Dylan’s own arranged announcement, he is a stone-cold idiot.

Typically Woj and others like him in the business of breaking news hold until minutes before. Was that not the case here.

First I’ve seen Woj out scoop news on HS commitment. Maybe slow NBA day

If you think Woj did his job then please explain why both Ron Jr. and Ron Sr. have publicly called Woj out for being a doosh.

Would love to hear your explanation on that one.

A reasonable expectation would be for Woj to tweet the decision out to his millions of followers right after Dylan had his moment on his decision day…..not tweeting it out 20-30 minutes prior.

Last I checked the players Woj usually breaks news for don’t have a commitment ceremony.

To me - RHS and RHJ feelings just means they didn't understand what was going on.
Has Dylan said he was upset and he told Woj to wait?

If the point was for Woj to tweet it AFTER, why would Dylan tell him the decision early?
The announcement time was public. Why tell ESPN/Woj the specific decision in advance?
Especially the person who's job is to break news.
The specific Rutgers picture? Tell Woj to have 3 tweets drafted with each different jersey ready to go.
Reasonable is not telling the biggest sports news organization and biggest breaking of basketball news the decision in advance.

He tweeted it out 11min before the announcement time.
Woj breaks all news.
He breaks NBA draft picks.
That's a pretty big ceremony for the player. Arguably much bigger than a college announcement.

Dylan is 17 years old.

Two thoughts:
1) a woj bomb on woj’s account followed by millions is more valuable than any venue any high school player could find other than live ESPN I guess.
2) that said, I imagine the only reason woj would drop it so fast has to be that he knew his competition was getting it any minute.

No, as stated it’s his job. And his job to be first. Harper or other leaker needs to be smarter than that.
No. It’s Dylan’s job to be “first”! Not Woj. Not ANY news outlet. The kid gets one shot to do this and Woj prematurely ejaculated. Give the kid his spotlight.

He's had the spotlight for years, and I don't begrudge him another 10 minutes of his secret. But then why tell a guy whose job it is to break news ? It's got no value to Woj after Dylan announces, so of course Woj would break early.

Miscommunication, maybe.

So you’re saying RHJ and RHS - the brother and father of Dylan who were there with him in person didn’t know what was going on.

But you do.

Weird hill to die on guy.

You’re defense of Woj is bizarre.

Breaking News. WOJ tweets next time it rains the streets will be wet 😉.

While I think it was a dick move, it wasn’t like he revealed something terribly unexpected… plus most took the approach of waiting for it to be official before breathing easy regardless of the WOJ job. I know i did.

Do these people defending Woj honestly think he was the first person the Harper's told and no one else knew? Word is always out before the commit is announced. Richie gets info on commits and doesn't tweet about it and it's his job too. It's a dumb excuse
