IMO the key to the game was when Jets had 4th and a half yard at the Cincy 6, down 20-19, four minutes left, only one timeout left - and they kick the FG to go up 22-20. At that point I said to myself "They lose 23-22" and I am sure I am not alone in that.

I know that at least 31 out of 32 (Belichick is the possible exception) kick the FG in that situation. That does not make it the right call. Someday sabermetrics or its equivalent will find its way to the NFL. Until that day, coaches will continue to kick, kick, and kick again.
