At the moment we are hearing Schiano met with his staff recently to discuss some potential candidates for the opening. I'm told the list is around 12+ candidates ranging from FCS Coordinators all the way up to NFL coaches.
Other than the names we have already mentioned in our hot board, I’m hearing one new potential name to keep an eye on is Ola Adams. Some of you might recall the name as he was the DC/DBs coach at Villanova for the past three seasons before accepting the Temple Co-DC job this past January only to leave a month later for Asst. DBs of the Denver Broncos. Now he technically doesn’t have any NJ/RU/Schiano connections, but he wasn’t too far away working with the Wildcats. Adams is considered an up and comer in the industry as he was recognized by the AFCA (2019) as a one of the top 35 coaches under the age of 35. The same organization named Corey Hetherman (current LBs) coach to the same list just last year (2021).
Along with Adams, stay tuned as we are hearing there are a couple of other former NFL guys interested as well.
