THE OFFICIAL RUTGERS-VIRGINIA TECH PREDICTION THREAD

Trust me, my prediction is completely worthless. But I will be worried for this game and the entire season if Powell and Bailey aren't starting.
all of our, especially mine , predictions are worthless but in a way fun to make, the way I see it, in threads like this asking to pick the winner
That's why I asked you and others that posted in this thread , but didn't make a prediction, who they pick to win between RU & VT.

The Virginia Tech coach sounded very confident. Their home field advantage is legit. If we are fortunate to win, it will be a very close game. As with most games, this one will be decided at the line of scrimmage. They know what we are planning to do.

It should be a great football weekend. Safe trip to everyone who is traveling to Blacksburg.

If it’s that close it because we made numerous errors/ penalties.
Watching the first half of the Akron game, there should have been 3 interceptions. One has to wonder about the one TD that bounced out of the defender's hands into Duff's hands, why did we threw into triple coverage. So yes, there is a possibility that the great DBs VT has along with their good DL picks us off a number of times.

Running QB, scares me. I hope not but, VTech 24 RU 20
I will agree with this unfortunately

RU has been susceptible to QB draws, QB scrambles, and delayed handoff runs
I hope returning defensive players can stop this, but go under the assumption that they are not ready yet

I want to be totally wrong here, but those problems we have shown must be corrected

Rutgers 31, VT 24. VT will score on some broken plays but struggle to be consistent. Game will not feel as close as the score indicates. We will run the ball very well against them. We will have a turnover but force 2. We will sack drones twice but he will escape at least two other should be sacks. Drones will throw a pick and someone will fumble. We will give up a sack and throw a deep INT.

This game feels like such a tone-setter for the rest of the season. Win it and get home for what should hopefully be a zoo next Friday night.

22-20 RU.

If RU is going to have a very good year, they will need to win a number of close games this year. I think the VT, Wash, Wisc, MSU, Illinois games are potentially very close. I’ll be optimistic at this point:

RU: 23 VT: 21

Predictions are pointless but I’ll bite lol.

I have seen nothing that says Virginia Tech is anything but a mediocre team. Rutgers is superior in most areas. Rutgers now has an offensive system with the quarterback to move the chains when needed. The drives will be methodical with the occasional deep ball. Rutgers run defense may struggle against the mobile QB but I’m seeing at least one INT. Game will be close at half but I see Rutgers pulling away towards end of 3rd quarter.

Rutgers 28
VTech 17

RU is hungry and Schiano has them prepared this season to be a breakout year.

We play Schianoball run run run control clock, win time of posession by alot. Block a punt which translates to a score. win turnover battle 3 to 1.
Scarlet 27 Gobblers 17

None of our current guys have ever played at Lane Stadium, unless there is some transfer I'm forgetting about. I'm sure it won't be more intimidating for the veterans than places like the Horseshoe or the Big House.

We run it well. That's their weakness on D.

They have good receivers. Our secondary is possibly the strength of our D.

Rutgers by 10.

Since there doesn’t seem to be much reality in this thread, I’ll note that the Hokies are 3,5 point favorites on a field at which RU has never won. This will be a tough game.
I did not want to be the first to make a post like yours. Unfortunately, I agree with you!

I agree that this looks to be a tough game. But exactly how many current Rutgers players have ever played a game in Blacksburg ?

We run well and they don’t defend the run well. Monongai and supporting cast get >200 yards on the ground. Athan does just enough in the pass game.

RU 31 - VT 21

Nothing technical, but I have a good feeling about this one.
I went to our game there in '96.
They were blowing us out,14-0,when one of their wide receives dropped a TD pass without being covered, failing to score.
We tied it early in the 3rd quarter when Robert Seeger caught a TD pass-with the wind.
We got beat by 14.
Afterward, their fans in the bathroom were screaming about not being able to blow us out.

This.
Totally irrelevant. New Players, New Coaches, New Team. History at Blacksburg means Jack.
