We’re ranked
We’re 15-5, 6-3
We’re undefeated at home
We’re in play for an NCAA bid
We’re hosting a good team
We’re favored
The RAC is sold out
...and I’m nervous as hell.

Is this what it’s like to be good?

Hell yeah, bring it on!

Enjoy the ride. As a Purdue fan, enjoyed mine, and still enjoying this one. Here's to an I jury free game. 45-42 Purdue (Homer opinion)

21 wins just about sums it up... as we all are aware too much bias around and many political type moves are made ... just keep the focus.

To me, it's 21 wins+, or else we'll get a kick in the nads on Selection Sunday!!!

Please stop with the “21” crap. Especially the “political” stuff. If you think the NCAA doesn’t want our fans filling up a place like, say, Albany for two days, then packing Madison Square Garden for two days, you’re freaking nuts. I could easily see 7000+ fans of ours making the trek up to Albany. Maybe more. It’s been 30 ****ing years guys. Think about that. The NCAA’s and stupid.

The thing is, we're Rutgers, and you know that there is a rule that you can't get more than half your conference in the tournament, and also teams that start with 'R' get 1 win subtracted, so we need at least 23 wins to get on the bubble, 24+ is safe imo.

Seriously guys: PAY ATTENTION to the NET rankings. We get to 20 regular season” we’re in; probably even 19.

Bryant 210

Drexel 235
St. Bonny 127 N
SFA 117
NJIT 279

SHU 15
Lafayette 209

I want 21 so I don't need to sweat. Don't want to sit at 20-12 and compare ourselves to 19-14 Ohio State OR 18-15 Wisconsin and listen to talking heads say B1G was solid, but not deserving of 10 or 11 teams.

I hope you're right, but what immediately came to mind is the women's team getting screwed year after year with their NCAA seeding.

You DO realize all 3 of those were at Mackey Arena, right!

I do. Any team capable of those results doesn't "suck". Like us, they certainly are better at home than on the road, but the Rutgers team that beat SHU by 20 (and has not been great on the road) gave Illinois and Iowa all they could handle away from the RAC.

Net, Kenpom, etc. etc all have Purdue as a top-35 team for a reason. This isn't a bad team at all and a team certainly capable of playing very, very well.

Does the the nearly 30 year streak factor into the committees decision though? Does a nice story give us a boost. I recall Northwestern had a very long streak a season or 2 ago without making it, and it was hyped up before the tourney.

Never said that they suck. This is likely to be a fairly tight game but one that we win at home!

Listen, we’re all walking on egg shells a little bit right now, I get it, but try to look at things objectively and we are in a very, very good place right now.

Net rankings link below. Good luck filling 68 tournament lines (36 at large bids) without at least 10 teams from the B1G. We do agree the NCAA tournament will have 68 teams, correct?

https://www.ncaa.com/rankings/basketball-men/d1/ncaa-mens-basketball-net-rankings

American 3----50/50 WSU or Houston dont win AACt
ACC 6 ---- wild stab, have no idea who the teams would be
A10 3 ------ Dayton in VCU, URI Rich....could be 3, probably 2 pending A10t
B 12 6 ------could be as little as 4 though
BE 5 -----could be 6 if a bottom 5 team wins BET
MWC 2---- 40/60? SDST wins MWC...Utah St gets stuff together also could be 3, doubt it
P12 6-------a lot to sort out, but the conference is half decent
SEC 6------B1G light no great teams, a few bad, a lot decent. 4 bad team going to give Ws away
WCC 3---Zags St. MAry BYU
single bid 23---including the great SFA
total 63

We are on track for sure. Get me to 21 and if it is 60 degrees Sunday Match whatever and it is past daylight savings account I may opt to play golf

This list puts in nine teams with a NET ranking higher/significantly higher than Purdue and Michigan (35 +36 respectively).

Your list would mean ALL OF Va Tech (50), NC State (60), Syracuse (64), Oklahoma (46), TCU (61), Washington (45), Alabama (41), URI (47), and Memphis (51)would have to be taken over Penn State (27), Wisconsin (31), Illinois (32), Michigan (35) and Purdue (36). Come on.

Not just a very long streak but a never been to the NCAA tourney in the history of the program streak that they broke in 2017.

I think it was more dramatic because they were sort of on the bubble. If RU takes care of business beforehand we will be safely in but the story is still going to be huge...just wait. Thats why I would like to get as many wins as possible before the last 3 or 4 so there is no added pressure from social media

2 things....
1. NET is not the end all be all
2. Those 5 teams are playing each other and at least 1 will fall a bit, probably 2

Wisconsin, Michigan and Purdue will be your case studies. Would the committee put a 18-15 ish team as the 10th or 11th team of a conference OVER a 21-10 school from a lesser major conference

If Purdue loses tonight they will be 11-10. That wouldn't eliminate them, but boy they would have a lot in front of them

Michigan is banged up, with a new coach and are sitting at 11-8 and with a date with RU.

Wisconsin is 12-9 with the next 6 games......
MSU
at Minny
OSU
at Nebraska
Purdue
RU

By the way if they beat OSU that would be OSU's 7th loss

OP, yes these home games are stressful and pressure packed. But this is what we've been waiting for. :CHOP:

I will make a prediction that at least one of those 3..Purdue, OSU, Michigan get hot in the 2nd half of schedule and one of these 3...RU, Indiana, Penn State go cold

depends which ones and their wins...and we wont know that til the end, thats what makes this so difficult but Wisconsin has very good metrics....sos of 3 and 5 quad 1 wins I believe. Purdue has a win over Michigan State and thats a key one to have just like RU;s win over SHU could be ginormous if SHU wins the BE

I think last year Fla got in 19-15? I think the Big 10 will have schools with those numbers getting in. I dont see a school like Cincy at 21-10 or 21-10 New Mexico or 21-10 BYU getting in
