I think both of those guys are travelling to Nationals, regardless of who goes, and from interaction I've seen between the two, whoever isn't wrestling will be cheering the other one on.

Thanks, Bill. I'm pretty sure Goodale could have made a run at Cassar if he had recognized the potential, although maybe he did try to get him. But Cassar did choose to walk on at Penn State. He's another good argument against the concept that Cael can't develop wrestlers.

I always thought Cassar had a great upside. Non- qualifier as a HS junior at Montgomery (not known as a wrestling power in NJ) to undefeated champ as a senior. His potential was confirmed when he made the world junior team (beating Moore along the way, iirc) but then the shoulder injuries bit him. Great to see him persevere like he has. For the 6699 at Rec Hall Saturday, he will always hold a place in the pantheon of great performances in dual meets. Legendary.

So through your psu glasses the one left without a chair should stay? For what exactly? Because he gets to practice for Cael, be a good insurance policy in case someone gets hurt and be a depth guy.

Because the object of the game last I checked is to be out on the mat wrestling, not a spectator in the stands. Elite athletes go to where they can compete, and the counterpoints are incredibly rare. Not sure what Suriano wrestling in a dual on the schedule has to do with it. Do PSU guys only wrestle Iowa and OSU and not the other Big Ten teams?
