That’s why people are getting a little delusional about next year. Right now we have two stud freshmen and not much else. Let’s see how it plays out.

Whoa! Derkack to RU, nice! I was hoping we'd land him. Good size, can score the basketball, defensive player of the year, local guy coming home, and his younger brother is a top recruit that is finishing his sophomore year. Lots to like. Welcome to RU, Jordan!
All of what you said is great but 27% from 3 and 4 turnovers per game (am I reading that right?). No one on our team averaged more than 2 and we play in the B1G. Like the brother/relative/friend angle. That seems to be our MO.
He won't be a primary ball handler for us so the turnovers per game will go way down. Only part I don't like is I wish his 3Pt% was 34+%. It may go up some from not being the focal point of the offense, but I would not expect a huge jump.
Outside of needing to get a Center from the transfer portal, this is a very good roster that you'll see gel over the course of next season. When you have two top-3 recruits, fans are going to be (rightfully so) incredibly excited.
He will be fine he can get lay ups which we need badly. We did not have one player that could make consistent layups very sad. Welcome.

3pt shooting percent? At this point we only have room for a 3pt specialist and a big.
Do you think that’s the way we go? I’m almost thinking we need two bigs (a 5 and a 4). Isn’t Martini the 3 pt specialist? Right now we have exactly zero proven rebounders.
It's not fair to Cross, but after how Noah turned out, my gut reaction to a UMass portal player isn't super positive.
How many bigs can we play? Sommerville is going to get minutes at the 5, proven or not. We are bringing in a portal 5. We have Ace (who is a good rebounder I think) and Martini. Grant looks good. And all the guards and wings are big. Overall it's a very tall big team. So, yeah I get that nothing is proven, but I think we need a shooter more than another big or a dedicated rebounder.
I met Hobbs last night at an event. Without saying too much he had great insight into some of our recent transfers:
Mag- got bad advise. Intimated that he could have played down the stretch.
Cliff- Didn’t have a great year. Loves him and will miss him but thinks Pike will find a suitable replacement.
Simpson- had to take on too much responsibility after Paul and Cam left. Thinks he’ll do great at SJU but might have become comparable to Geo if he was allowed to grow slowly.
Paul- made a huge mistake. Like Cliff, loves him and wish he had stayed.
Gavin- got terrible advise. Thinks Nebby is a good spot for him though.
Spencer- hired gun. We lived by the sword and died by the sword with him.

Damn feel kinda sad for Minnesota. They had such high hopes for next season. The portal ruined them
Alabama had become my fathers favorite team because of Walters coming from The Villages. Guess he's now a Michigan fan.
As well as Michigan has done, Indiana has done even better. 4 B1G teams in the top 10 portal hauls…Indiana (#1 right now), Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio State, with Maryland at #14.

They also had a lot of talent last year but their chemistry was sorely lacking as was the team commitment by many. Let’s see if Woody can get them to play as a cohesive whole like Purdue and Illinois.
Indiana with Ballo, Reneau, Mgbako, Carlyle and Rice has to be one of the strongest starting lineups in the country next season. The weak link there is Woodson.

Not sure he's strong enough to play center in the B1G, but is a solid rebounder. Not really great defensively though.
