when we were way down in the 3rd quarter and they starting pulling all of the "Jersey" commentary to fill air, including all of the posible fruits and vegetables of the "Garden State"...that was just ridiculous and that comeback must have blown their minds. Great effort by team, seriously that was stepping UP to the Occasion.

Yeah, better they talk about our corn and tomatoes, then than melons from the shore.

Mason was ok.

The other guy was a piece of garbage. He was overtly rooting for IU...I wanted to punch him in the face...

So true. Listening to the play-by-play guy, you would think Indiana was up by 21 at the half, not down by three.

I was saying the same thing to myself. This dude seems to actually want IU to win.

The play by play guy was annoying as hell

I've said that many times over the year. Guy used to be with ESPN and his "what kind of speed does he have?" line is particularly unbearable to me.

Did he call the 2005 Illinois game? I recall the announcer said the same exact thing as Brian Leonard ran down the sideline after Leonard leaping a defender.

Why can't WCTC sync up with TV? I love Carlin but they are a step ahead of the visual. Milewski will surpass Eric in color commentary. Just two guys in the booth and what I heard was smooth...but again, I would only reconnect while TV commercials were on. Then back to the boob tube.

I tried listening to WFAN through laptop, but the sync was off by a play or 2.

They were clearly mocking NJ and ridiculing the program. I've driven through Indiana twice the last time being in 1992. The landscape and back country looked beautiful but my girlfriend at the time quickly pointed out that being raised in a state like Indiana would be a slow and torturous death for any northeastern kid. For the most part it's poor and with very little to do!!

Glen Mason was once a candidate for the RU head coaching job. I believe it was the opening filled by Graber.

Mason always seems to have a connection with the existing coaches on the sidelines.
I missed the second half since we had people over for dinner. But, Mason was really impressed with Indiana's D in first half even though they were losing!!! What does that tell you?
I can only assume that the way they put four unanswered TD's on the board in the third quarter pretty much looked like a combo offensive/defensive beat down. What can you say when it is so one-sided?

Trap, not to mention, but I will ... Indiana is one of the most racist states in the country, and yes I have been to all of them. They are closet racist, but without a doubt racist!

RUich I pointed that out during the game thread... It was still the second quarter and we had 27 points and he was talking about how he's impressed with the IU defense I couldn't believe it

Yes, I was bitching to my family that while we were driving to take the lead at the end of the half, one of the announcers said, in effect, we were fortunate to still be in the game. It sounded like a local Indiana broadcast during the game.

I expect that when we play the traditional powers, but Indiana? Please.

He's a play by play guy. They typically favor the team on a roll. He was the same guy that did the Birmingham Bowl against NC State. He didn't bother me. I thought Mason was awesome. His comments were dead on. Dinardo was dead on in the studio as well. However, is it me or does it seem like Revsine always seems let down when we beat a true B1G team?

Revsine probably doesn't think we should be B1G. It is quite clear that John Bacon doesn't in "Fourth and Long". Revsine said on "The Final Drive" on BTN that we broke our seven game B1G league road losing streak. Guess he missed the Maryland game last year...

Onwards and upwards.

Beat OSU!

Yeah, that's where I remember him from. I'm sure he's done other games of ours in the past, but have to dig deeper into my archive of game notes.

Anyway, I didn't listen to him since I prefer listening to the Rutgers radio guys.

Was it Graber or Shea? DiNardo too. Wasn't one of them the guy Fred "Clueless" Grunninger interviewed in a diner making him sour on the job?

Mason is an unabashed Jersey guy who loves his home state. I really like that

Ironic a guy complaining about racism makes a conclusion about everyone in a state based on his personal limited experience.

No way Glenn Mason was mocking NJ.

An intervention is officially called for.

part of it is, what happens in a lot of our games, the other team scores with ease, and then we need a long, painful, what looks like a stuttering drive to score..... it makes the other team look like the better team, even though the scoreboard does not show it.

Sometimes I wonder if I am listening to the same game as some of you guys. The announcer showed equal parts excitement for RU big plays as he did for Indiana. And you also have to weigh that many of these guys are Midwest/Chicago guys still unfamiliar with east coast football. Whatever limitations people felt that the announcer had was more than made up for by Mason who was almost a three plus hour commercial for NJ.

I've tried - the problem is no two broadcasts (on different systems) are exactly the same - Cable will be different than DirectTv which is different then on-air broadcast.

What I've done is use TuneInRadio app (you can pause live radio) - and pause my DirectTV DVR - and you can play-around with them and eventually sych them up.

But, you'll find that even once you do that --- the two run at slightly different speeds (which seems crazy) and eventually you have to re-sych --- it's a pain -- but way better than listening to Matt Millen...

I listened on a radio while watching and it was only a second or two behind. Quite fine.

I thought the BTN play by play in the RU-Indiana game sounded exactly like that woman we used to get on ESPNews

Glen Mason was born in Colonia NJ and was one of the first players from Colonia HS to play D1 (Ohio St). Gee, who else went to Colonia ? Mason has always had kind words for Rutgers. He's a good guy and great analyst.
Mason started coaching at Kent St and finished at Minnesota.

Another thread with lots of stupidity.

Mason is great for commentating our games, he doesn't root for any team more than the rest and he just seems to give us the benefit of the doubt. Really glad he's on the B1G coverage and has commentated a few of our games the last yr and so far this yr.

other guy is terrible

Maybe that was true in the 1920s, when 1/3 of all the white males in the state were in the Klan, but that was quite a while ago. I would think things have changed since then.

god no!!!! I heard her doing a uconn game recently -- and all i could think was THANK GOD we are not in that conference anymore!!!

I'm always amazed when you hear a guy like Mason - when he talks about "this guy coached for him for x years" or "that guy's father played for me" or "I know his high school coach"..... you realize what a small fraternity it really is...........
