Earlier this month, I posted that Tyler had moved into 8th place on the RU scoring list, and tonight she passed Caroline DeRoose, to move into 7th place. She started the night with 1745, and added 27 more. She's likely to pass Austin, Picott, and possibly Howard in the next 2 games.

1,000 POINT SCORERS
Sue Wicks (1984-88) *2,655
Cappie Pondexter (2002-06) 2,211
Kahleah Copper (2012-2016) 1,872
Regina Howard (1983-87) 1,807
Vicky Picott (1987-91) 1,792
Telicher Austin (1985-89) 1,789
Tyler Scaife (2013-present) 1,772 (if my math is right)
Caroline DeRoose (1990-94) 1,762
Tanya Hansen (1988-92) 1,682
Matee Ajavon (2004-08) 1,622

18 points today (in just 18 minutes!). If my numbers above are correct, she’s now passed Telicher Austin with 1790.

Classy comment in a post-game presser (after NC State maybe) where the questioner mentioned Tyler's move up the scoring chart and she quickly flipped it to "I just want to get coach to 1000" or something to that effect. CVS comes off like she has a lot of hard bark on her but the players seem to have a real affection for her.

Why is there an asterisk next to Sue Wicks' name? She played until 2002 (age 36). That's some athlete. Good memories of Theresa Grentz in there too.

Thank you for posting the update!

BTW, that’s three wins in 5 days.

Tyler added 23 to her total today for 1835 points in her career. She needs 38 to pass Kahleah

not getting the national or even B1G respect she deserves (so far).. they'll have to wake up come league play...clearly next Rutgers women's WNBA star with her game.

Tyler added 24 more points to her career total against Houston this evening moving her to

1908 total!!

She added a few nice assists as well

How about getting your 1900th point on a play like this....big time move.

pretty sure you can hear me screaming WOOOOOO at the end there. There was another breakaway late where Tyler was ahead of the pack and you can probably hear me yell watch out behind you. I was going nuts today with some of the crazy behind the back assists. Lots of good steals today from Stasha as well. My father and i have never had seats as close to the commentators before. I could hear them during the game on Wednesday.

Way to go Tyler...but I never miss a chance to hail the queen! Suuuuuuuuuuuue!

Sorry just had to! [winking]

For some reason my comment from a few days ago never showed up.

After the Michigan State Game Tyler moved to 1956 points with a 25 point effort that game.

With 13 points against Illinois Tyler moved her total to 1969. She needs 31 points to join the 2,000 club.

Short youtube w Viv speaking post game plus some highlights. At the 1:10 mark watch an incredible Scaife steal, break away dribble to the hoop, guarded by 2 defenders, she behinds the back to avoid the defenders hand reaching in, then a twisting layup. Spectacular !

"This is the team, trust me when I say that." CVS I love it!

According to the official box score, Tyler went off for 29 today ( and we needed all of them!). That should put her just 2 away from the magical 2000!

Too bad the next game is on the road
(Wednesday at Purdue)

Updating to show the top 3. Tyler's consistency continues to give her a good chance to catch Cappie before the end of the season.

1,000 POINT SCORERS
Sue Wicks (1984-88) *2,655
Cappie Pondexter (2002-06) 2,211
Tyler Scaife (2013-present) 1,998

With a minimum of 14 games left (12 regular season and a minimum of 1 each in the B1G and NCAA or other post season tournaments), Tyler needs to average 15.3 per game to eclipse Cappie for #2

Currently averaging 21.5 pts in 26.4 min... if she maintains that average for just the 12 regular season games, that'd put her at 2256.

Right now, she's on pace to pass Cappie on 2/14 vs. Wisconsin with 2213 points. If she's just a hair shy of that, she should have a very good chance of doing it at home vs. Iowa on on 2/21.

Would like to see Tyler move into #2, but would love to see the scoring load spread more evenly so the offense doesn't need to rely on Scaife scoring as much as it does now.

Wonder how many Cappie would have had if she played four full seasons
I believe Cappie played the full 4.

Her junior season she sat out the first semester, probably missed about 10-12 games.

I'm being conservative to avoid jinxing her. ;-)
