One trip down the floor, Mulcahy used a screen up top, got to the rim, finished, plus one, and gave Phil Wheeler some good trash talking on top of it.

GSB, leads, 28-22... 2:26 left in 2nd Q. Mulcahy has 2 fouls and so do 3 other GSB players. The foul trouble is preventing GSB from playing tight D.
With 10 more months for him to develop his game before our first contest of the 2019/20 season, it’s looking more likely that he’ll start for us at PG on day one.
I will gather my updates for later tonight but Mulcahy has been matched up Scottie Lewis most of the 1st half on both ends of the court. He is absolutely a PG at this level. He has played a solid half of half court defense on Lewis as well.
GSB leads, 46-39, at the end of 3rd Q. Mulcahy has 9 pts. I haven't kept track of assists. I'd guess about 7.
For you old timers, Murphy is playing like a high school version of John Pinone tonight. GSB, leada, 53-47, with 5 min left. He has 20 pts.

Coached against Murphy three times last year at mendham . Good player but he was a one man team last year but a beast inside . We would just clamp down on him because he didn’t have the teammates to make us pay . Now he does . He is probably a d3 player though bdcayse he lacks real size abs athleticism but is a bull and a great around he rim .
Mulcahy threw up an ill-advised 3-pointer -- air ball -- and missed the front end of a 1 and 1, but then drove the lane for a nice layup.
Mulcahy at line... 15 sec left.. tied at 60... makes first... makes 2nd

13, 6 and 6....probably had another 3 assists that were missed chippies...took 3 three pointers, 2 rimmed out and the 3 mentioned by Mike above. This was a high caliber game with Lewis and Mulcahy taking ok each other.
This game was a steady paced but hard fought game. I would call Mulcahy fitting in as seamless as possible for how we play.

Very good. All I heard was how he wasnt a defender in the B1G. Well he shut people up tonight. He played great man defense on scottie lewis when they went man. Stayed in front of him and imo got the better of him. This is the same scottie lewis whos being talked about as a first round pick in 2020. Guys we got ourselves a reallllll good one

With scottie lewis d’ing him (one of the best defenders and all around athletes literally in the world) Paul got to the bucket, stayed composed, shook him and made him fall, overall in my honest opinion, got the better of him.
Right this second, if Paul was eligible tomorrow, hed instantly be the smartest player on our team, the best passer on our team BY A MILE, and also have the best handle BY 10000 miles. Kids a day 1 starter barring injury, id bet my life on it. The question now becomes, how the hell are we gonna keep all our guards happy next year minutes wise?

Smartest player on the team, yes. Best passer on the team, yes. Best handle, yes. I’ll give him until Christmas next year to start but wouldn’t be surprised if it’s sooner. Kid’s the real deal.
With the size of our guards, plus Paul I would imagine a lot of 3 guard sets

A little birdy told me that mulcahy will play a ton next year and when hes on the court he’ll be guarding the opposing 3
Love this. Need more kids with this type of confidence. Paul and Tez both have a cocky swagger to them.

Agreed! There was one possession early on where scottie was allll over paul, clapping at him and challenging him, well paul gets past him, no look dishes for a layup down low then stares down scottie and claps at him while death staring through him. Tough kid, has a swagger to him
