To me, I wanted GS back because coaches want to work for him. His recruiting prowess was on full displaying by getting F Brown and Gleeson.
I don’t think that was always the case, though?

I think that was overblown during his earlier time here. He had a limited budget, assistants are mercenaries, and went to the higher bidders. No longer the case now. There will always be staff turnover, but money tends to reduce it.

We have to close the gap big time this year. We made some progress but were no match for PSU and OSU and could not play 4 qtrs against Nebraska when we needed that game to play in a bowl. That was very disappointing to lose to Nebraska at home. That was a huge loss that no one talks about on this forum.

This year we have to be .500 team. If not, then it will be a very disappointing year.

Agree with the OSU and PSU games. The Nebraska game is where Rutgers ran out of gas and had no depth to finish the game. Hopefully this off-season is the beginning of loading up the depth to compete for years to come.

Knowing how beat up we were and that they had a sizable advantage on the OL vs. DL, a 7-pt loss wasn’t “real bad” IMHO. Just confirmed that we need to beef up on the OL and DL; something Greg is already making progress on.

We may not close some of the gap this year. It could be a 3-5 win type of year. But everything is pointing upwards for this program.
