For inventing the internet?I blame poor border control for this.
And Al gore.
Am I alone in thinking that since Ray was allegedly taking substances to enhance his body, that perhaps they affected his mind and attitude as well? He reportedly was NOT the same guy with his team mates SO?

I've said this before here, and the Ravens line and run game that year were downright terrible, but but I don't have any doubt if he ran for 1600 yards in 2013 instead of 600, or averaged 6 yards/carry instead of 3, that he would be on a team somewhere. In a league full of guys exhibiting Neanderthal behavior, Ray deserves another chance. I don't buy the washed up argument. No one can say that for certain. As a Ravens fan, I still wish we had him.
He is the only player in the history of the league that I can think of who was blackballed for one strike.
I've thought the same thing. After years of weightlifting in advanced high school, college and professional programs a small RB managed to put on 10 pounds of muscle in a few weeks (Harbaugh said Rice's body fat % had not changed - he was muscle bulked and not "fat"). Rice was trying to overcome injury and many NFL players have been known to try substances to heal, perform etc. On the field Rice was noticeably edgy and had been in several scuffles and spitting incidents with opponents. I also know from friends who were in the same casino the night of the elevator incident that Rice had hit a casino security guard earlier in the night. My friends saw incident and left because of it (fearing they would get tangled up in police affairs etc)

Sure, Ray did fail Ray! Absolutely!
But, as an institution we dropped him like a hot rock. We were way wrong.
People come with warts. If Rutgers takes a player, a student, a Coach or a fan, we should take them completely, through thick and thin.
That is a Rutgers man!
well, this thread has taken a turn towards the absolutely idiotic. I'm not sure if you're trolling here or not... but it was widely reported that he was actually losing weight in the time leading up to the incident:

so Im assuming most of the nonsense in your post is just stuff you made up.
Looking back on Ray....we failed our son, Ray. If Coach Schiano were still here, things would have been very different! He would have reminded us of who we really are!
Ray is a loyal son and we should have stood by him! WE should have taken our lumps. I will always cheer for Ray Rice, not for the elevator, but for who he truly is...a loyal son. Thanks Ray.
Going forward, without Coach Flood and without Hermann. We should remember who is family. When your relative screws up, he is still your loved one. I love Coach Flood, he is us. Its time for him to move on, because the world won't let him succeed at home any more. But, he will always be ours. Always.
That's what it is to be a loyal son.
