That was an old fashioned ass-kicking. We were beaten by a bunch of men who were better than us in every aspect of the game. Not even going to look at boxscores or posts today, but I saw the 55-27 rebounding margin before I left the RAC and that says just about eveything. Other than our poor rebounding, terrible defense and horrible shooting, we played pretty well.
Illinois is just a much better team right now. Our lack of size and inability to create and execute good shots really hurt us today (like it did against Princeton, the only other above average team we've faced) and I'm afraid it's going to be a recurring issue. Hard to see this team being that successful, although almost every time I've doubted Pike and his ability to adjust, he has come through - let's hope he has something up his sleeve for the rest of the season.
