11 wins and a Big 10 championship. McSorley is a legitimate Heisman contender. He did all this with a mediocre OL. His best is yet to come once the OL is able to open up the run game for Barkley.McSorley and a Better OC got Penn State 10 Wins. Jonathan Lewis is better than McSorley and Kill is Better than Penn States OC, so I really think the sky is the limit. Off course i won't complain if we fall short, but aside from OSU and Washington, everyone else is beatable.
no way, he probably goes pro before the season startsIt should be clear to any informed and objective observer that Jonathan Lewis will quickly become the prohibitive favorite for the 2017 Heisman. Hard not to think that he'll essentially have the trophy sewn up by game six...
God bless you Al. You're optimism never wanes and that's a good thing. You're cut out of the same cloth as James Franklin. Ash and Kill will get the program to where it needs to be but it will take a little time.
We have a house rented in Pasadena for New Years and we're hoping PSU represents well on Jan 2nd. USC matches up well with us and in my opinion this will be the best team we've played since tOSU. It will not be an easy game.
With warmest holiday wishes to you and your family, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Lol. This is funny. Thank God no one's putting any pressure on a high school QB to perform.
So you equate St.Peter's schedule ( and it's very good ) to the B1G scheduled teams we play?...there is a monumental difference in pressure between the two levels ... I do believe he is going to be a very good QB at RU but give hime some time ...If we can show significant improvement in all areas then I think we will begin our ascent to competitive and above over the next 3-4 years. The kid is used to the pressure, and led his team to the state championship, where they unfortunately fell short. nevertheless, he's got the talent and moxy to do big things at Rutgers.
I agree with Al on this one. Lewis isn't going to have St. Peter players on his offense, he will have D1 players. Also the difference between Lewis and Gio is, Gio is a bit robotic following his instructions and Lewis naturally starts moving fluidly it is natural for him. For example watching Gio, he turns, fakes a handoff then runs to where he supposed to. Lewis gets the ball, moves, drifts away from where the defenders are coming and then runs. This is not a knock on Gio, Gio is a very good player and will probably be the starter but Lewis will be ready. The difference is night and day. The speed of the game is much different. Having D1 players doesn't slow down the decision making window. Having D1 doesn't make defenses slower. Ask anyone who played in college and the difference is huge. It why you have busts. It particularly difficult for Qbs. Just because he won a "state" championship in the everyone gets a troph NJSIAA olayoffs doesn't mean he going to ready as a freshmen or even later in his career.I agree with Al on this one. I agree, many great HS players are busts at the D1 level, Rettig comes to mind. It is only my opinion based on watching videos that I think Lewis will become the starter at some point next season. The difference is night and day. The speed of the game is much different.
