What are we supposed to do between the wrestling match and football game at Yankee Stadium

Not my fault you (and others) don't like it when people openly speak the truth my friend! Alright, alright, alright! [cheers]

If I have trouble giving mine away I may take some of you up on the offer and sell them to you for $5/each... that is, unless the athletic department is correct in their statements that there will be a healthy secondary market to resell these garbage tickets :joy:

Lol. Some of you guys sound like children, who need to be entertained every minute of the day. If you can't waste away 90 minutes as an adult, you have a problem. Sit for awhile, go for a walk around the stadium... hell, walk up to the upper deck if you want. Have a beer. Walk around the merchandise shop. Take a dump. Then find your seats again for the game. It is really not a big deal.

There actually probably won't be time to even do all of that. If you go for a walk around the entire stadium, and go in the Mohegan sun and have a beer, and then come out, it will be time to watch warmups.

Didn't you hear .... this is Dynamic Ticket Pricing in play. You will get big $$$$$$ on the secondary market.

In January, Pat Hobbs talked about a "tailgate in the stadium" in conjunction with the wrestling match before the Rutgers-Maryland football game at Yankee Stadium. We were told that the athletic department was working on creating "a really memorable and unique experience".

So here we are, about two months before the event, and we have heard nothing about what is being planned. The Alumni Association has announced a "KnighT Pass" to give alumni an option to buy a standing room ticket to the game for $20 bucks (which includes a complimentary drink). But for season ticket holders who already have seats, all that gets you is a free drink for $20.

So what is the Athletic Department planning for season ticket holders? We know there is a wrestling match. Between the wrestling match and football game there is a 90 minute gap? If you watch the wrestling match and then leave the stadium to head to a nearby bar, your ticket will NOT provide readmission to the stadium. So you're stuck in Yankee Stadium for at least an hour and a half, doing what?

The game is about 2 months away. I hope the Athletic Department doesn't treat this like Johnson Park parking and wait until the week of the game to finally make an announcement, when it is too late for season ticket holders to make or change their plans, and it is too late for someone else to plan something fun in the (likely) event that the Athletic Department drops the ball.
That means you'll pay 25.00 for warm, flat soda and cold sausage on a soggy bun. And as a bonus, you'll get to wait a half hour for it.

Maybe use the $20 standing room ticket with a "free beer" to exit and then return....looks to me like this is a smoke screen to let people exit and return. Did I miss something here? beers are $12 on their own yeh? Or buy the $5 tickets offered above....

Find a sunny spot, take a seat, sit back and relax, maybe even sneak in a nap.

Then with about 30 minutes before kickoff, do some stair work. Get that blood pumping again.

Are the wrestling mats under something if it rains?

I have asked the "what's plan B for inclement weather" question multiple times. No one has been able to give me an answer. It's November....it could be 30 degrees. are they wrestling outside in 30 degree weather?

Agree.
Although...Yankees site says you can bring food and a sealed bottle of water so Atleast there's that (unless somehow Rutgers/Yankees change that rule for this 'special event'.

Yes, HPSS Security Policies in effect......no food or sealed water allowed in... just for that game. lol

That's an option. If I can get a bunch of $5 tickets, then my tailgate group can go to the wrestling match, leave to hang out at a bar, and then head back into the stadium for the football game. But I'm not sure if my tailgate group will want to do that. They'd probably just skip the wrestling match and apply the $5 for the re-entry ticket to more beer at the bar.
Not dumping our tickets.
Burning them and mailing the ashes to Hobbs. ;)

I didn't think you could walk all the way around?
Maybe the TD club could have a meeting in the stadium with a Yankee Stadium historian as a guest speaker.
That is actually a great idea.

Would be even better if it was the old one but still should be considered.

Do we have any idea of the timing of any of this yet? Like a noon start for the wrestling match then 3:30 kickoff for Maryland? (Sorry, no idea how long wrestling matches take)
That would make too much sense. Plan on trying to stay warm instead as you sip on your $6 hot chocolate and watch the sun set over the Bronx. $$$$

You could schedule a doctors appointment once a week till the game and that way sitting around waiting with nothing to do for 90 minutes will seem like nothing.

the plan was supposed to be have enough time between the 2 to allow for removal of the wrestling mats and for the teams to warm up. 90-120 minutes max.

Relube and grab your ankles, "our partners" have $14 beers available.

Here is a weird way of looking at it.. Forget beer prices.. What if the people in Houston had to pay Yankees prices for water? Or Rutgers prices for that matter.

bring a book and read it..or a newspaper.. Houston is 10 feet underwater and people are worried about being bored for an hour..
Did you just use the tragedy in Houston to mask poor planning on the part of the Rutgers-Yankees brain trust?

I've always wondered about Plan B as well, anytime an outdoor match is scheduled. In the few examples I know of, luck was on the side of the schedulers and the weather was as good as could be hoped for. But what about when it's thirty degrees or raining? I guess they just cancel.

Let's see...the folks who don't want to go anyway are complaining that they haven't yet announced the plans for what's going to happen in the 90 minute window. I'm sure the athletic department and alumni association will each have something going on and will announce their plans at the right time. But if you're not going to Yankee Stadium anyway, why obsess, as if there's some giant clusterf**k going on in the department about the event aside from having scheduled the game there in the first place.

Maybe we should just call out the waaahhhmbulances.

The same people incessantly bitching about the Yankees, Yankee Stadium, and prices at the concessions there, need to take trips to Citi Field, Citizens Bank Park, Angel Stadium, Dodger Stadium, and AT&T Field, before complaining anymore.

Concession prices were high, when the stadium opened, no doubt, but they really haven't gone up much since, and there are much better ticket pricing options for Yankee games now. Shit, you can even buy a $15 ticket to stand and hang out in the bar areas, inside the stadium, with views of the field, and get it free beer with that $15. There are also several thousand tickets available at $10 per seat these days.

But, hey, let's just keep incessantly bitching because that's what we do here lol!!

here's a great idea for those of you who don't know what to do for 90 minutes or so: find one another and sit there and complain. The time will pass faster than you could imagine!!
