What did Dan Hurley say to Maryland players?

i read reports he called each player a "******" after the game, which Maryland easily won. If that is true, you would have to have your freaking head examined if you want him at Rutgers.

During a late game timeout he allegedly said "we'll see you after the game" towards the Maryland coaches.

Maryland called a late timeout to call off the dogs and put walk-ons in. Hurley thought they called TO for another reason and flipped out.

From what I read, he called each player a heinous term in the post game handshakes. Please don't sugar coat this.

The problem is that the rumored word was one Mike Rice was excoriated for using. There is no proof of it though other than the video of the postgame handshake where a couple of players appear to react to something Hurley said to them.

Rice said a lot of things. Need to be more specific. We're adults here (I think).

It was a slur commonly used against gay men starting with the letter F. I used the word in another thread and someone edited it out so I didn't want to repeat it here. Rice used that word and the Tyler Clemente tragedy was brought up as a result.

Unfortunately, Danny has dealt with mental health issues since at least his college days. Coaching in a power conference is not for a guy that has shown emotional fragility on some occasions. Brother Bobby would be perfect, but he has a better job.

I'll take Hurley. His rhody team came back from 17 to take the lead with a minute left. They lost but team never quit unlike a team I root for. The great thing is his season is over so negotiations can begin immediately! As far as demeanor, we aren't hiring a monk, we are hiring a coach. How was parcells language?coach K has a potty mouth. I truly don't understand some people's expectations. They want someone to go 30 and 0 and carry them self like Pope John Paul. Sometimes winners aren't always pretty but it beats losing 17 in a row and never getting upset.

and your proof is?????

and your proof is?????
My proof as to which part of my post? Your question could be directed to three different parts of the post. If it is that Hurley actually used that word, as I said in another post, there is no definitive proof. All there is is a video of the handshake in which several players react to something Hurley says combined with multiple reports that he used that word. I did not directly witness it, nor is there actual audio.

so why are we talking about it then...every single coach probably has something you can point to..if there is no proof I dont see the issue

"every single coach probably has something you can point to" Since you're asking for proof, where is the proof for that statement? Yes, we all have character flaws but when you are getting paid a huge salary and in the public eye, you should be able to control yourself and save your venting for the car driving home.

Hobbs has access to the Maryland coach and can easily find out if this is true or false. If true, even if he was interested in Hurley he will move on.

Hobbs showed us what he values when he hired Ash: great skillset + high emotional intelligence.

It's an interesting story. Maryland players say he said it. Someone at the scorer's table claimed to hear it. Then Hurley said that he didn't say that and the next thing you know the Twitter account for the tournament Tweeted that no tournament worker heard anything. The Tweet reminded me of Sgt. Schultz on Hogan's Heroes "I heard nothing, I saw nothing."

So ultimately it's he said/she said. But if you watch the video of the handshake line the Maryland kids and, I think their S&C coach, someone said something offensive

I have enough faith in Hobbs' intelligence to be confident that he knows he can't afford to hire another Mike Rice or Kevin Bannon. Hopefully he can find the modern day Tom Young.

the proof are the players that he said it too

Didn't like Hurley since he was a kid and I was reffing games at Tom Young's summer camp. I was doing the St.Anthony's game and he was a 13 yr old prick with a sharp tongue....got $10 game to do the camp. They were playing Perth Amboy coached by John Battle.

Probabyy funniest thing was they had no clocks on the back side courts, so we used watches. Battle gave me his NCAA tourney watch. Got home that night and still had it. Gave back the next day lol.

EXactly. ESPN would hire lip readers to prove he said it. I can see it now. Also, I remember the RU-SHU games where our fans mercilessly got on Danny's case to the point where his father was lashing out at the fans.

that may explain the behavior that is being talked about-while unfortunate for him dont think we need this

Which of the 100s of disorders are you referring to? Anxiety ? REM ? Dyslexia? Panic?

YOU ARE THE BIGGEST PIECE OF CRAP FOR INSINUATING ANTHING ABOUT SOMEONES MENTAL HEALTH ON A PUBLIC FORUM, when you obviously know nothing. I guess Wagner U and URI were really bothered by your disgusting allegations. URI just extended Hurley, btw, you DISGUSTING CREEP! F U !

Anger issues?

Anger issues?

No , Disgust issue. Pitiful to accuse someone in a public forum of having some kind of undisclosed, unsubstantiated mental health issue.
