Talent is obviously ridiculously different between Rutgers and the elites of the conference. But, how does a team like Iowa who has had class rankings close to Rutgers for the past few years do it? I mean, I know they aren't great by any means this year, but they don't consistently have 1 completion in a half or are down by 40 at half.

So, I completely understand the current regime has little to nothing to work with, but how is it this bad? What are teams like Iowa or others doing? I'm not even talking about winning, I just mean something other than this. Can we ask for at least something other than an embarrassment in these types of games?

I would like an answer to this question as well.

There isn't one person on this coaching staff that you can look at and see great experience from.

We have a HC who may or may not have been the reason for being a good DC/Co-DC at OSU.

We have an OC who never called plays at this level, and was just coaching WRs for perhaps the hottest name in coach in Herman.

Our DC was a burnout at the MAC level.

Our Special Teams coordinator looks absolutely clueless with constant fouls for illegal formations.

An OL Coach from a 1AA program.

The only hire that seems to be working? Our new S&C coach.

Iowa being in the other division can't hurt. As for the coaches.....I think you're overcomplicating things. This is talent gap plus a culture change.

So what does this mean going forward?

stop with the little to work with, we have enough talent to not look this inept.

Even howard was getting to the outside and no adjustment made!!!!!!

Coaching is awful, I can't remember ever seeing coaching look this bad so fast and we've still not seen any adjustments!!!!!!

Iowa does it by being lucky that Laviano doesn't pitch the ball to a wide open player for an easy touchdown. Last year they just had a good team. I'm hoping we get at least to this level in the future.

agree and said something similar a while ago to be railed. Of course Ash looked good at OSU, he had horses there and could literally rely on the talent to hide any coaching inadequacies.

The anti Flood (I'm a part of that) and euphoria of the new coach has people ignoring glaring weakness in this staff. Not getting a first down in the half and not making any adjustments is unreal!!!!!!

It is a severe talent gap complicated by the fact that new offensive and defensive schemes have been installed that don't fit these players.

that are not suited for many of these players.

Coaches should donate there last 2 games check to the B1G fund because they haven't earned it.

to a degree, a good coach makes adjustments and a good coach fits team to the players he has until he gets who he wants. I saw no adjustments on D or O in the first half. We still had backers and safety coming in untouched on the right side at the end!!!!!
