I mean, surely Carlin asked him some very tough questions in the postgame interview as is his habit. I can only imagine how he had Jordan squirming after the harsh tone he took.

How did the so-called coach explain away this particular debacle?

“Their defense is unique,” Jordan said. “They play a 1-3-1 zone that allows you to do some things but then they clamp you down. It’s almost like a spiderweb — it looks pretty and you want to go in there and then all of a sudden, you see big people and they shut down the passing lanes and we didn’t have enough talent to get it done, to beat them tonight.”

Again, the lack of talent reference was made, which is recruiting, which is squarely on his shoulders

Eddie has to be mad. Culture change is needed. I fear the NBA effort stamp over the program the last 2 1/2 years is irreversible. It is apparently OK for our forwards and centers to go 50% every other possession. 6'2'' un athletic guards going coast to coast for easy layups is tough to watch.

Nothing has changed.

So no one plays a 1-3-1 zone and there's no clue how to deal with it? To the point where you only manage 49 lousy points?

As best I can tell, and admittedly I have struggled to figure out what we are trying to do offensively, we seem to want play small and push the pace rather than allow the opponent to set up their half court defense. We had such a scoring drought in the first half and GW is subbing guys in and out while it appeared EJ was either clueless on what to do or looked down his bench and said this is the best I got.

The lazy passes they threw. And Daniels vs that defense, maybe the dumbest player I have seen at Rutgers.

Lazy stupid passing is just in the DNA of Rutgers basketball last decade or so. No purpose to the movement, sloppy & stupid. That's our MO.

Just like with the football team. Losing is one thing. Looking clueless is another.

Eddie is such an easy guy to root for but even his most ardent supporters have to be souring on him ( though those easily identifiable shills would never utter a negative word publicly )
We were the same class year. I love the guy and really wanted him to succeed but I truly believe that he has to go and the sooner the better.

I'm completely done until there is some tangible improvement.

Rutgers had 2 points at the ten minute mark in the first half. There still are some fans on this board that say Rutgers has talent .I guess they must be referring as compared to Rutgers Newark.

Lets get rid of that pregame video crap. Its fine when you are winning but its embarrassing.

I agree the video before the game should be shown when a team is good. Right now we are not a good team. Also highlites on the radio after a game are a joke when we keep losing. We have gotten pounded in our last 2 losses.

The 1976 team is why I am a Rutgers fan. I would listen to every game on the radio and then Knight line. When I got older I would go to as many games I could afford. When I lived in North Jersey, I would drive 30 miles south just to pick up the game on my car radio. I could tell you everything about the team and program. Over the last ten years I cared less and less. This weekend I saw the score on News 12 and my wife asked me why I do not follow basketball anymore, and with out even thinking I just said "I do not care anymore". At that moment I realized how bad it has gotten. Sad

Unfortunately, the theme song for many old time fans. Honestly, I can't blame them.

When it comes to attending a game at the RAC...

I won't be there no more
So get out of my way.
Let me by
I got better things to do with my time
I don't care anymore
D'you hear? I don't care anymore
I don't care no more
You listening? I don't care no more
No more!

I hear you. I was in HS at the time and that's when I started following Rutgers BB. Like you I listened to the games on the radio, because not many of them were televised and I read the old Newark Evening News about the highlights of the team. Man, that seems like a lifetime ago compared to the garbage all of us have had to endure since 1991. I think the only bright spot was the finals of the NIT against Michigan. You could see the excitement of Rutgers fans and they can out of the woodwork to support the team.

I'm hoping with Hobbs in place he will realize just how important of a revenue sport BB can be if we can get the new practice facilities, update the RAC including the locker rooms and actually bring in a proven winner as HC who knows how to teach the fundamentals of BB that seem elusive under EJ.
